Do you want to make a real difference in your local community?

Down Community Transport is currently seeking Volunteer Car Drivers to help local people attend hospital appointments, shopping trips, social activities and more.

As a volunteer driver you can:

Receive mileage expensesโœ…
Be part of a friendly & supportive networkโœ…
Help people stay connected & independent โœ…

A valid driving licence is required and full support will be provided.

Rural Micro Capital Grant Scheme (RMCGS) 2026/27 is now open.

Grants of ยฃ500โ€“ยฃ2,500 are available to eligible rural community and voluntary organisations and Social Economy Enterprises for small-scale capital projects tackling locally identified rural poverty and/or social isolation.

Apply by 12.00pm midday on Monday 22 June 2026.
