2nd Uddingston Scout Group is a Non-Profit Organisation situated in Uddingston whom have attendees from surrounding Bothwell, Hamilton, Viewpark, Tannochside. We run the following sections:

Beavers - 5 yrs 9 months to 8 years old
Cubs - 8 yrs to 10 and a half yrs old
Scouts - 10 and a half yrs to 14 yrs old


We are always looking for new Youth and Adult Members, so if you are interested please d

Last night of 2nd Udd Cubs before summer, and welcoming our newly moves up Beavers too. We had a go at making popcorn, damper bread and pitta pizzas on our fire. Think the popcorn (with coconut oil and cinnamon sugar 👌🏻) was the biggest hit! See you in August… if not before! Enjoy your summer team 😎

In what was a very bittersweet end to the year, we waved 11 beavers off to cubs tonight.

⚜️6 of these beavers have been with us since we launched our squirrel drey back in October 2023
⚜️3 joined us when we launched our new beavers section in April 2024
⚜️2 joined us in January 2025.

We are so proud of everything they
have achieved in Beavers and wish them lots of luck as they embark on the next stage of their Scouting Journey!

2nd Uddingston Beavers turned their hand to fire lighting and backwoods style cooking, last night.

The Beavers used flint and steels and some lighters to practice different techniques that can be used to start a fire.

As part of our backwoods cooking activity, the beavers made pita pizzas and cooked these on our fire. We ended the night with some toasted teacakes.

Tonight the Cubs were working on their navigation badge. We split into two groups, with one taking pedestrian routes and the other sticking to main roads. We finally reached our destination- a playpark 🙌🏻 And local business even opened after hours for the kids to let them get a well earned snack- thank you Adamo and Yvonne 🙏🏻

It was a pleasure for myself and Simon as Group Lead and Depute Group Lead to catch up with our squirrels and Beavers for a little feedback session where all of our young people had the opportunity to ask us questions about the group and tell us all of their favourite things about Squirrels and Beavers and give us ideas of things that they would like to do more of 💕 It has always been important for us to have these sessions across the group to keep us close to the detail of what is important to our young people
