Sunday Stay and Play is back on 6th September. A fun, free, play-based session for tots to teens. There is toast, a story and craft. Parent / carers chat while children play. At the end of the session families have the option to show the congregation what they have made. You are guaranteed a warm Wesleys welcome - see you at 10am!

Now we are into September, a lot of our classes that have had a summer break are re-starting. Did you know we have a weekly yoga session every Thursday morning - re-starting tomorrow, Sept 3rd - from 11.30am-12.30pm. All the details you need are below. Poppy and Jake are lovely people and we are so pleased they are starting this group in Wesleys.

We're delighted to announce that bookings are now open for our November start!


📍 LOCATION

Baildon Methodist Church (Wesley’s), Newton Way, Baildon, Shipley, BD17 5NH

Our classes will take place in the church, and we kindly ask that you enter and leave through the main church doors.


🕒 CLASS TIMES

Wednesdays:
• 1–2 Year Olds: 9:15am – 10:00am
• 2–4 Year Olds: 10:15am – 11:00am


Our fun, engaging, and supportive classes are designed specifically for preschool children, helping them develop confidence, coordination, balance and fundamental movement skills. Through exciting activities including balancing, jumping, rolling and a variety of gymnastics-based movements, children will take their first steps into the world of gymnastics while having lots of fun.

Classes will be led by Poppy and Jake, both former elite gymnasts with extensive coaching experience. They are passionate about creating a positive environment where every child can learn, grow and enjoy being active.


PRICING

• Trial session: £7.50 (one-time introductory session). If you and your child enjoy the trial and would like to continue, the remaining sessions of the term will be payable as one block to secure your child's place. The cost for the remainder of the term will then be £45 (price will vary depending on number of sessions left in the term).

• Whole term (7-sessions): £52.50 (£7.50 x 7-sessions). The cost for the term will be payable as one block to secure your child’s place

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Did you know we have two wellbeing sessions at Wesleys every week? Mondays 1-3pm and Wednesdays 10am - 12noon, in the Alcove area of our cafe. If you are feeling a bit low and in need of a chat, need a break away from a stressful situation, or would like to have a go at some craft activities with others just come along. We provide a quiet shared space where it’s okay not to be OK. Everyone is welcome, particularly if you need to see some friendly faces. Our photo shows our team of wonderful volunteers who help run our sessions and they would love to welcome you.

Now that it’s the school holidays we wish to remind everyone that if your children are entitled to free school meals, we provide a free lunch for them along with one adult. Please just mention it at the hatch when you order your food. Also if anyone else is struggling, we have our small food bank in the porch on the Newton Way side of our cafe.

At lunchtime today we were sorry to say goodbye to Kate, our wonderful Community Liaison Officer. Kate has tirelessly looked after our room bookings (we have a lot of bookings!), chatted to people in our cafe - especially anyone on their own, shown people around our building, set up our wellbeing sessions - to name just a few of the many tasks she has taken on while she has been with us. We will miss you Kate, and we wish you well in your retirement.
