Baggy Trousers UK

Baggy Trousers UK Baggy Trousers UK is a cancer charity that provides support to those directly affected by testicular cancer and raises awareness to help save lives

BaggyTrousersUK was founded in 2014 by Jack Broadley following his own experience with Testicular Cancer. As a charity we aim to inform, educate and potentially help save the lives of boys and men by showing you how you can look for the earliest signs of Testicular Cancer and what you should do to act upon them.

Look, we know this stuff isn’t always easy to talk about. But don’t bottle it up. There’s loads of support out there and most of it is from blokes who’ve been exactly where you are.

We’ve got therapy sessions through our charity. Most of us at Baggy Trousers UK have had testicular cancer ourselves. We get it. Drop us a line any time — no judgment, no nonsense, just real chat.

It’s been a whole 10 years since our founder Jack Broadley launched Baggy Trousers UK, and we couldn’t be prouder! In that time our charity has provided support, advice and countless fundraising events to raise awareness and help people affected by testicular cancer.

Now we have a full team of trustees and volunteers dedicated to the cause to ensure our efforts continue and expand further into the future.

We will be celebrating our birthday throughout the month of March with some of the work we’ve done over the last decade. Watch this space!

If you would like to make a donation to help us mark the occasion we will be eternally grateful! You can follow this link: www.baggytrousersuk.org/donate

On to the next 10 years!

The 4th post in our series - What to Expect from Scans and Tests.

In this series we will discuss the different scans and tests you may have if you have testicular cancer, or symptoms of testicular cancer. We'll talk about what each test is for, where it is conducted and what you can expect from each appointment.

Both an MRI and CT scan can be used to detect cancer. CT scans are more common for initial diagnosis and staging. They provide a quicker and more comprehensive view of the body, including the detection of tumours and other abnormalities in organs. However, MRI scans are sometimes preferred when dealing with soft tissue cancers, such as testicular cancer.

Third edition of our blog series, Caregiver Chronicles. In this series we will highlight the different healthcare professionals you are likely to meet along the journey of being diagnosed with and treated for testicular cancer.

We’ll discuss what to expect, what each healthcare professional will do, what they are looking for, and what they may advise next. Hopefully, this may ease any fears, answer any questions, and prepare you mentally for each appointment if you feel you have symptoms or are going through a diagnosis currently.

In this blog we will discuss the oncologist’s role in a cancer diagnosis.

One previous owner, few miles on the clock!

Just a bit of fun - we're not really selling this! If you are currently recovering from testicular cancer and already have one of these, or are due to be given one following surgery – it is really important that you stick with it! Following testicular cancer surgery your sc***um will be tender, sore and delicate.

It’s not a good idea to just let them hang freely, as they need stability to recover properly.

So stick with it! It will be worth it! You may simply push back your recovery time if you do not use this bandage or follow the other instructions your oncologist or urologist gives you.
