The girls are finally back out! 🐔🌱

With avian flu restrictions lifted, our chickens have wasted no time reclaiming their favourite job… “helping” in the garden. Doris, of course, has taken her role as Chief Worm Inspector very seriously—no digging goes unsupervised on her watch! 🪱👀

They absolutely love meeting new faces (and showing off a bit), and in return they keep us well stocked with fresh eggs for the community 🥚💛

9 members of our core volunteer team attended Emergency First Aid at Work training today led by Martin Vass of Ashford First Aid Training Ltd. The team found the training not only really informative but great fun too.
Thank you so much Martin for giving our volunteers your time, energy and knowledge. We feel much more confident to deal with an emergency first aid situation at the community garden now 😁

We are delighted to share that our Garden Kitchen was recently awarded a 5 Star Food Hygiene rating.
We'll be looking to start our 'Grow Cook & Eat' project later this year - grow vegetables, learn how to create recipes with them.... And then eat!

We are absolutely honoured to be chosen as a finalist in the Stour Leisure Centre Ashford Hero Sustainability awards. To be shortlisted alongside bigger and longer running groups such as Singleton Environment Centre in the same category...amazing!!
We'd also like to congratulate our founder and trustee, Cllr. Heather Hayward on being a finalist in the Public Service Hero award.

If you have any whole, clean paving slabs that you no longer need then don't pay to get rid of them at the dump = we can reuse them at the community garden! We've recently used donated slabs to create a wheelchair ramp into our Community Hub Building, and also as edging on our wildlife pond.
Please do get in touch if you'd like us to take any off your hands :-)

We are delighted to be one of the local charities involved with Ashford Community Sleigh this year. The Limes Community Garden will be collecting donations alongside Santa and the sleigh on the following dates/routes:-
*Monday 8th December* - Knights Park, Chartfields, & Washford Farm
*Monday 19th December* - Clockhouse, Brookfield Road and Stanhope
*Monday 22nd December* - Park Farm and Bridgefield.
This is a great way to get involved and support the community garden without getting muddy ;-) Either by donating on the night, or volunteering to be a collector with us.
If you'd like to help collect please email [email protected] and we'll add you to the list. The more people we have collecting, the more money we can raise for local good causes (including us!!)

Don’t forget to come Trick or Treating to the garden. You’ll be treated to our spooky trail, terrifying tombola and a fun Halloween!

This year we have grown and carved our very own pumpkins 🎃

Usual teas and coffee available along with hot dogs, leek and potato soup from our very own produce and our ‘signature’ hot chocolate-if you know, you know! Donations welcome-very!!
