Sometimes people need a hand to learn how to achieve that fix on their treasured items. What's the cost?

We support people to save the planet by helping them to repair broken items. Recycle and repair, not replace! What's the size limit of the item for repair? Our aim is to help fix small household goods. If the item is no larger than an average suitcase, we'll try to help you make it re-useable. There is no charge for each repair, we run as a community service but, if you are able to, we suggest a d

onation towards our running costs (venue hire, publicity, etc.). If you are on a low budget though, we'll still gladly help you. How can I help the Alton Repair Café? If you're good at fixing things, offer your time, once a month (or whenever you can), to join our lovely band of volunteer repairers!

We often don’t consider how special some items are until we sit with a person while their treasure is being repaired. This was true for Patricia who brought in a very tiny broken ceramic duck, one of a set of three. They were her husband’s first ever gift to her over 60 years ago. She’s now a widow so was delighted to have the set complete again to remember him by.
