We are preparing for National Volunteering Awareness Week next week, inviting our volunteers to a celebratory summer BBQ to mark the occasion.

We want to shine a light on the heart and soul of our work: our volunteers.

From the very beginning, volunteering has been the backbone of our charity. Our co-founders, patrons, and trustees, all dedicated volunteers, set the course, while many more give their time each week to make a tangible difference in our communities.

What our volunteers do at The Healing Hubs

• In-person project volunteers: Every week, volunteers gather in Aldershot and Alton, Hampshire, to support our Meeting Places, Warm Hubs, and community events.

• Befriending volunteers: Our telephone befriending team supports NHS referrals and operates our National Befriending helpline. Volunteers across the country offer friendly, supportive conversations, reduce isolation, and foster resilience.

• Fundraising and support volunteers: Volunteers help us raise essential funds, ensuring we can sustain and grow our services.

• Partners and supporters: A wide network of organisations and groups contribute to our mission, providing venues, resources, grants, and expertise that amplify our impact.

The people behind the scenes
• Co-founders, patrons, and Trustees: All volunteers who give time, guidance, and leadership to steer The Healing Hubs toward greater reach and effectiveness.

A heartfelt thank-you to our partners and funders

We are grateful for the generosity and collaboration of our partners and supporters, whose contributions help us serve more people and expand our impact, through donations, raffle prizes and corporate volunteering projects. We want to give a special thank you to:

•Alton Rugby Club: Provides a free-of-charge venue each week for our Alton Meeting Place. Alton RFC
• Aldershot Traction Athletic Club: Supports us with fundraising, food donations, and use of their grounds for events, as well as hosting our Aldershot Meeting Place. Traco Athletic Football Club
• Core Telecom: Provides our free National Befriending line. Core Telecom Limited
• MDT Online: Sponsors a member of our team and provides training, HR, and supervision support. .mdtonline.co.uk
• Abri Homes: Procures our services and provides grants for our community work. Homes
• Sanctuary Housing: Provides a venue for our Aldershot Warm Hub. Sanctuary Housing
• Stafforce: Provides Easter donations and fundraising support. Stafforce
• Sports England: Supports our seated exercises project.
• National Lottery: Supported our laughter awareness campaign.
• Comic Relief: Supported a tricycle that helps bring Warm Hub support to local communities.
• NHS: Enables us to recruit volunteers through their platform and trusts us to refer their patients for support nationwide.
Impact we’re proud of (and the people who make it possible)

We are a small charity, currently supporting approximately 110 people per week. Yet the breadth and depth of our impact are amplified by the volunteers who donate their time, energy, and compassion.

We are excited to announce that our Patron Jack Sheffield will be joining us at our Volunteer Thank you BBQ on June 1st....
