Play2Give play2give.org.uk Play2Give (P2G), a charitable incorporated organisation, was founded in September 2007 by Didcot's Andrew Baker MBE BCAv.

Founded in 2007 by Didcot's Andrew Baker MBE BCAv, Play2Give is an award-winning Thames Valley Charity of the Year changing, transforming & saving lives across Oxfordshire and focused on supporting children, health and disability causes. Changing, transforming and saving lives across Oxfordshire with a particular focus on children, health and disability charities. Honoured with an MBE in the New Y

ear Honours 2021 and with a British Citizen Award (BCAv), Andy was inspired to create P2G after having received treatment throughout his childhood at Oxford hospitals after being born with a brain injury. Creating P2G in 2007 continued his fundraising he embarked upon years earlier. Undergoing brain surgery aged 12 in 2001 was the catalyst for Andy in 2003 to begin fundraising. Aged 14, Andy began raising money while a St Birinus School Didcot pupil for the specialist Oxford Children's Hospital, which opened in 2007. P2G, initially created as a single football tournament event, the annual tournaments took off and made us well known, since we have continued to grow and flourish. Over £400k has been raised through a catalogue of local events and campaigns including our annual Christmas Sleigh2Give gift and Easter appeals. From football tournaments to Halloween discos and gala balls to Summer fun days and colour runs to talent shows and festive markets, raffles, tombolas and merchandise to all other forms of events including partnerships with local supermarkets and through the value of £250k presents raised and distributed out to the less fortunate, children, families and the vulnerable, this amazing amount has been achieved. Play2Give was awarded the "Charity of the Year 2020" in the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards and in 2015 we won the "Best Fundraising Innovation/Campaign" Award at the Didcot BACAs, and in 2022 we won the Didcot Mayor's Community Champions Award. Over 40 good causes and many individuals have benefited from our tireless charitable work.

Plate Runners Up 2026

So far so close but a huge well done to the guys from F. Church Ltd - based in Steventon - who were this years plate runners up in our 15th football anniversary tournament last weekend.

It is one of several apperances the F Church lads have made in the contest over the years and this year thanks to F. Church and all of our amazing teams and supporters an amazing £7,200 (with still some more funds pledged to come) was raised for our charity!

As well as taking part they also help to raise money with buying raffle tickets, which is very much appreciated and goes a long way to help us in our mission of changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire.

We look forward to seeing the team hopefully return for 16th charity tournament in 2027

Congratulations to this year's plate winners - plate champions for a second consecutive year - Beyond Athletic, players from Hampshire, who took part for the first time, and will be back for thirds next year - we can hardly wait!

Lewis 107-miles bike ride for Play2Give

Today our very own Ambassador Lewis Manning has set off on his epic 107-mile cycle ride - raising funds and awareness for Play2Give

Early hours of this morning he has set off from his home in Didcot to Dorset
on route passing through Compton, Reading and Newbury

To help follow Lewis along the way you can track him on Live360:

So far, with gift aid, Lewis play2give has raised almost £690 - smashing his original goal of £500, and its not the only endeavour hes carried out. Earlier this year in April after hitting the £250 halfway mark he became and also dressed as a carrot to help deliver cheer, joy and smiles to hospital and hospice patients, families and NHS staff with thousands of Easter eggs that our Bunny delivered and last Sunday reffed for hours on end with many back to back games in the heat in our 15th charity football tournament.

A huge thank you to Lewis's sponsors All-Round Marketing Behind Bars Cycles and K + K Warehouse

To donate to Lewis and spur him on as all pounds, along with cheers and emotional support through the ride, will motivate Lewis along to push him through the gruelling and hard pedal power can be given below (if you are able to give any spare quids):

We will share further updates we receive and we will post his tracker separately shortly, but please give your biggest cheers and shout them out loud for Lewis and lets get him through this

Thank you to everyone for all the incredibly generous support - including all the businesses, shops and organisations who took in a poster over the weeks, sponsors and to Luke Bowers The Barber Shop and Beauty Within Didcot back in April for donating his "Slim Shady" trim.
An extended thank you as well to our friends Anytime Fitness Didcot particularly Bradley Aaron Wheeler and Paul Carter for supporting Lewis's funds with a sponsored cycle across two days in May in Tesco Didcot Superstore

We think Lewis is a ✨️👏🏿🏅

Play2Give's Football Tournament 2026 Plate Winners

Congratulations to Barely Athletic from Hampshire who were this year's Plate winners at our 15th charity football tournament last weekend.

Winning the plate for a second year in a row, with a close runner up in the F.Church LTD squad

A huge well done to the ever friendly and great bunch of guys from Barley Athletic and it's extra special and impressive when they are from another county and they make the trip all the way down the coast to come and take part and raise some funds along the way with it to boost our charity's work

Last year Carl and the Barely Athletic chaps took part for the first time after coming across our charity tournament online by chance - and it's an event they love to support, and they've vowed to be back next year to retain their title

This year's contest saw 17 amazing teams compete with over £7,200 raised in the milestone fifteenth event, which goes a long way to help us in our mission of changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire.

We look forward to seeing Carl and the team return for our charity tournament next year, and congratulations to the chaps from F Church who we hope will be back next year and will no doubt be aiming to go one step further with a win

15th Football Tournament Nets Over £7k!

What a day that was and another incredible amount raised too - and still rising!

That was our 15th milestone Football Tournament at Wallingford Sports Park last Sunday

Over £7k plus netted in the bag 🏆

After many months of planning, organising, late nights especially in the final few days including the usual stress of obtaining referees, long hours, stress, tears and tribulations, what another triumph our 15th special charity football tournament was ✨️

We smashed it 🙌

Sunday saw us hit Wallingford Sports Park to host our annual footballing fest - the grand fifteenth and it was another great day, and a sizzling success all round not just with the heat, but the action too also sizzled on the pitches

Sunday's weather couldn't of been more amazing although 🥵🥵 We were truly blessed with super sunshine 🌞 and another hot one but we beat the heat to make the 15th milestone event one of the very best!

17 wonderful teams from Oxfordshire, and beyond came together and all turned up (extra impressive with the big match the night before!) took to the pitches to battle it out, and a packed day with a great crowd coming down to support the day.

From local companies including Explosive Learning Solutions, ATA, F Church and first timers Robinsons Self-Storage and The Jones Robinson Group
to our friends at fellow local charity The Cornermen to squads of friends and even members of Snap Fitness Didcot and barbers Youngmans a diverse range of teams came together to unite for the love of the beautiful game and fun along the way, and nearly all teams embracing the charitable spirit which is what it is all about as a fun and friendly contest, helping to make this year's tournament the very best match of the day yet!

We are also delighted to announce that thanks to everyone's generosity and kindness with many teams going above and beyond to make a difference, we have raised the second most ever from this event in history with over £7,203 raised so far (and there is still teams boosting the coffers higher! so we are told). So, today almost a week on, we are still on a high and are still celebrating a premiership victory, and all thanks to our incredible team of volunteers, supporters and of course our sponsors who made this event possible

✨️ Congratulations to this year's awardees:

ATA - Top Fundraising Team Award 🏆 (for a third consecutive year)

Beyond Athletic - The P2G Plate 🏅

Robinsons - 2026 P2G Cup Champions 🏆

We would love to extend another great big thank you to all of this year's teams and all who took part, to all those who officiated including our refs - including players from some of the teams who stepped up to come to the rescue to help out on a whim, helped, volunteered, our pro photographer Courtnay Denham Photography and to Sarah from Oxford Hospitals Charity, to those came along, dug deep, Radio Cherwell, our very own Cath Convery for parking marshaling, John's Whippy, bought raffle tickets, companies and individuals who donated raffle prizes, and the event sponsors Jones Robinson, Allum's of Oxon, and Bubble Finance Hub Oxfordshire and of course a big thank you to the Wallingford Sports Park for hosting us. They love this event and are always so supportive

Our thanks also to Oxfordshire FA and Berks & Bucks FA for their help and support.

What a year it has been so far and the year is still looking young with some more fun, engaging and exciting events and activities to come including Play2Give's Christmas Market in November and our Heroes and Villains Disco at end of October, as well as the launch in September of our 12th Christmas Appeal.

P2G is all about changing, transforming, and saving lives locally and this latest amazing effort will do just this.

Once again 🫶 thank you ❤️
