Do you run Messy Vintage sessions or something similar? If so, we'd love your help!
The original Messy Vintage book was published back in 2021, written by Katie Norman and Jill Phipps, who pioneered this approach to enabling worship amongst older people in a more informal setting.
Since then many people have made use of this resource, using the outlines as part of a mid-week café or lunch club, a ‘holiday at home’, or within a care home setting.
Typically, Messy Vintage worship includes Bible verses, prayers, songs/hymns/music, a craft activity and perhaps some sort of input/discussion and response.
Now we are looking for your help to produce ‘Messy Vintage 2’ – a resource which would be in a print form that could be photocopied and also available digitally, to help all who seek to enable accessible worship opportunities with older people in their communities.
If you run such sessions, would you be willing to share a few of your own examples with us? Perhaps one or two that went particularly well? Please get in touch with us at [email protected]
Many thanks!

New article! 💫 When bishop Pete Wilcox launched his new book Come for Refuge after evensong in Sheffield Cathedral last Sunday, four of the refugees whose stories are included in the book were present. These contemporary testimonies, from the UK and Australia, sit alongside bishop Pete’s deep dive into the 3,000-year-old story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz, highlighting parallels in the experience of migrants and refugees across the centuries, and challenging Christians to respond with kindness and justice.
