This summer, we were lucky to welcome some amazing interns to Kenya! 🇰🇪

Nuha has shared her Nasio story, reflecting on a month of volunteering with us and, in particular, the time spent playing football with the incredible Greenblades girls’ team.

“It made me realise how powerful sport can be as a way of bringing people together and opening up conversations that might otherwise be difficult to have.”

From football matches to conversations around women’s health and wellbeing, Nuha’s experience highlights the impact sport can have in creating safe spaces for young girls to learn, connect and grow.

Meet Victorina 💜

Eight-year-old Victorina is the second-born in a family of four children. She lives with her parents and siblings, who depend on casual work to provide for the family. With limited and unpredictable income, meeting everyday needs can be difficult, and continuing Victorina’s education is not always guaranteed.

Despite these challenges, Victorina is determined to learn. She is currently in Pre-Primary Two and walks to school each day with her friends.

Girls’ Football, community and celebration ⚽️

We had a fantastic day of girls’ football, with referee Richard joining us to officiate the matches! We also enjoyed a powerful mental health awareness drama performance from local young people.

The day ended with Richard presenting Nasio with a commemorative plaque, celebrating the special partnership between Nasio and the North Berks Referees Association as we mark our 25th anniversary and their 90th! 🧡

And, of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate Rev. Claire’s birthday at half-time! 🎂

A wonderful day of sport, community and partnership!

The Nasio Library & Resource Centre is officially open! 🎉

What a wonderful celebration we had on Saturday as we marked the official opening! It was a great success and a truly special moment for the whole community.

This weekend, one of our supporters, Jacek, held an engaging and interactive educational session with some of the sponsored students at The Nasio Trust!

The session provided a valuable opportunity for mentorship and learning, allowing students to share their experiences, discuss their academic progress and explore their future aspirations.

It also helped build motivation and self-confidence, strengthen communication and interpersonal skills, and provide guidance on academic goals and career pathways. 🌟

We’re grateful to Jacek for his continued support and commitment to empowering our students and helping them reach their full potential. 🧡

Volunteer Stories! 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome our long-term supporters, Richard and Anne, to Musanda!

On their first day, they got straight into the action, teaching at one of our schools before joining our social work team on a visit to one of the families we support!

From cooking together to helping build a new dish rack, it was a wonderful day of connection, teamwork and community! ⭐
