In May 2026, your donations helped Abingdon Foodbank to distribute 190 emergency food parcels to people facing hardship in Abingdon and the surrounding villages.

These parcels fed 469 people, of which 162 were children.

VOLUNTEERS WEEK!

This week is Volunteers Week. Abingdon Foodbank is what it is thanks to a small army of volunteers.

Sorting donations, packing bags, welcoming clients, signposting help and services, making cups of tea, inputting data and paperwork, driving to collection points, loading and unloading crates of food, posting on social media, offering skills, knowledge and expertise, and that's just off the top of our heads!

Thank you so much to each and every one of our superstar volunteers, you help make possible all we do to help the local community. 💚

NEW COLLECTION POINT!! 💚
Brilliant news today as the new M&S Food Hall on Fairacres Retail Park now has an Abingdon Foodbank Collection basket!

That's one very happy foodbank coordinator, Aga! Thank you to the in-store team at M&S for supporting us.

You can drop your donations into the basket and our volunteers will collect them and bring them to our warehouse hub at Christ Church on Northcourt Road!

Thank you to everyone who shops at Waitrose Abingdon for your continuous support of Abingdon Foodbank.

Whether it's popping an item in the collection basket, putting your token in the community fundraising slots or supporting our seasonal food drives, it makes such a difference. Our volunteers are kept busy collecting crates of donations every week.

Super extra large night fridge tonight, Friday the 29th: we're estimating well over 100 crates' worth of food! Come along from 9:30 PM. We'll be opening and adding food as we go along. This isn't one to be missed. :)

We are actively collecting sun cream donations from now and throughout the summer to help support families and individuals with sun protection.☀️

We currently have 3 bottles of sun cream and hope to have at least 50 bottles before the summer holidays, but we would love to smash this target with even more donations given the ongoing heatwaves.☀️

If you'd like to donate sunscreen for our foodbank clients, we would ideally like no less than Factor 30, and ideally Factor 50.☀️

On Tuesday lots of our volunteers met up for pizza and a catch up! Thank you to all our volunteers for the work they do for Abingdon Foodbank, thank you to our foodbank coordinator Aga for organising, and thank you to the team at Pizza Express who looked after everyone so well! 🤗🍕💚

We have run out of empty egg boxes! 🥚

If you have spare or leftover egg boxes please do drop them in to Christ Church on Northcourt Road or our collection points around Abingdon and volunteers will pick them up on their weekly collections (Aldi and Waitrose are our largest store collections but all places are listed on our website.)

We receive a large box of eggs each week from Mayfield Farm which we split into boxes of 6s and 12s to give to our clients.

In April 2026, your donations helped Abingdon Foodbank to distribute 195 emergency food parcels to people facing hardship in Abingdon and the surrounding villages.

These parcels fed 460 people, of which 154 were children.
