As part of the Women’s Fund Fiji grantee reflections in Suva, the Pacific Blue Foundation team was grateful to join fellow grantee partners on a learning visit to the Centre for Agriculture Technology Transfer (CATT).

The tour provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the innovative and impactful work being carried out to support sustainable agriculture, community resilience, and knowledge sharing across Fiji.

We are thankful to Women’s Fund Fiji for creating spaces that encourage learning, collaboration, and connection among grantee partners, and to the CATT team for warmly hosting and sharing their valuable work with us.

Pacific Blue Foundation had the opportunity to present at the British High Commission Office, sharing the achievements and lasting impacts of the project across the Beqa and Yanuca communities.

It was encouraging to reflect on how the project’s conservation efforts continue to create positive change within these communities, particularly through strengthened community engagement and ongoing environmental stewardship.

The presentation also provided an important platform to discuss the pathway forward for PBF as we prepare to bid for the next project call, continuing our commitment to supporting sustainable conservation and community development initiatives in Fiji.

The recent Beqa District Meeting for Sawau and Raviravi communities provided an important platform for Pacific Blue Foundation to present updates on our ongoing programs under Women's Fund Fiji, while also acknowledging the positive post- project impacts that continue to drive community-led conservation efforts.

It was encouraging to witness the continued involvement of youth through the Beqa Yanuca Youth Movement, promoting both sports and conservation initiatives across the district. The meeting also allowed for meaningful engagement with relevant government stakeholders, strengthening discussions on how PBF can further align its work to support the priorities and sustainable development of these communities.

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mothers who continue to inspire us with their strength, love, and dedication. A special vinaka vakalevu to our super mums, Mila and Maria, for your outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to the organisation.

To all the mothers who continue to hold the fort while our gentlemen are out on the field carrying out conservation work, thank you for all that you do behind the scenes and beyond. Your sacrifices, resilience, and support never go unnoticed.

Today, we celebrate you.

👏It’s inspiring to see the CPUE project gaining strong momentum on Yanuca Island, with villagers taking a leading role in driving the initiative forward. Their active involvement, commitment, and ownership are a true reflection of the power of community-led conservation and sustainable resource management.

We are proud to witness the positive impact this project is creating on the ground and the strong collaboration between local communities and conservation partners.

A heartfelt thank you to Schmidt Marine Technology Partners and the Schmidt Family Foundation for funding and supporting this important project, helping to create lasting change for both people and the environment.

🤝Last week, Fiji Environment Law Association (FELA) conducted Trustees Training on Yanuca Island for the local community, bringing together villagers for an important and engaging learning session.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and active participation from the community, reflecting the shared commitment to building knowledge, strengthening leadership, and supporting sustainable development on the island.

We sincerely thank the Vanua o Nukutabua and villagers for their continuous support, cooperation, and enthusiasm in making these initiatives meaningful and impactful.
