💚 World Mental Health Day | October 10

Recreation is about more than physical health, it’s also a powerful way to support our mental well-being. 🌿

Whether it’s going for a walk, playing a sport, spending time outdoors, trying a new hobby, or connecting with others, recreation gives us opportunities to pause, reset, reduce stress, and recharge.

Sometimes, taking care of our mental health starts with making time for the things that bring us joy, help us feel grounded, and remind us to slow down.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s celebrate the role recreation plays in helping us feel good, inside and out. 💚

🧡 Every Child Matters
On September 30, Recreation Manitoba recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Today, we remember the children who were taken from their families and communities, honour Residential School Survivors and recognize the lasting impact of the residential school system.

🧡 Every Child Matters. This day is an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the experiences of Indigenous children and families, while continuing to build communities where every child is valued, supported and welcomed.

We encourage our members, partners and communities to take time today to learn, reflect and consider the role we can each play in reconciliation.
