ParticipACTION Community Challenge Returns June 1!

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is back this June, encouraging communities across Canada to get active and compete for national recognition.
By tracking participation throughout the month, your community could be named Canada’s Most Active Community and win $100,000 to support local sport and physical activity initiatives. Additional prizes ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 will also be awarded across provinces and territories.

Last year, more than 670 communities participated—now it’s time to rally yours.

🗣️ Be part of the conversation shaping our sector - Last call to Register!

CPRA is bringing the recreation and parks community together for a virtual Town Hall on May 6, and we want to hear from you.

This is your opportunity to learn what CPRA is advocating for in our 2026 Pre-Budget Submission, hear how this connects to the Framework for Recreation and Parks renewal, and most importantly, share your perspectives on what matters most right now.

This isn’t just a presentation. It’s a collaborative discussion to bring voices from across the sector together and strengthen our collective impact.

Your voice matters. Your insights matter.

🙌🌟 It’s National Volunteer Week!

This year’s Ignite Volunteerism campaign celebrates the power of community and invites Canadians to reconnect through acts of service, civic action, and mutual support. From long-time volunteers to those just getting started, it’s all about “finding your thing” and making a difference in your own way.

Volunteers are at the heart of our parks, programs, and communities. Thank you for everything you do 💚 Let’s keep building a stronger, more connected Manitoba together.

🌎🌿 This Earth Day, step outside, take a breath, and reconnect with nature.

We only have one Earth, and how we care for it today shapes the world we live in tomorrow.

Helping little ones connect with nature doesn’t have to be complicated. Take them on a walk, go bird watching, or spot insects and local plants together 🐦🌼 Small moments can spark a lifelong appreciation for the world around them.

You can also get hands-on by planting seeds, flowers, or trees, teaching where food comes from and how to care for the planet 🌱

Or spend the day exploring one of Manitoba’s beautiful provincial parks and experience nature at its best 💚
