🏛️We Were in Edmonton. Here's What Happened.

On May 12–13, Supply-Build Canada's advocacy team met with Alberta Government officials and political staff in Edmonton, joined by members Jodie Porter (Taiga Building Products), Brady Wilk (Integrity Building Products), and Gary Fletcher (Trail Building Supplies Ltd).

Topics included
- wood roof truss authentication process
- the impact of poor trucking practices on building material shipments
- expanding industry career awareness in high school curriculum.

We also briefed Minister Todd Loewen on our Washington, D.C. advocacy work. He voiced his support and asked to stay informed.

Our ask is simple: when developing policy that affects this industry, work with the people who know it best. Our members are that resource, and we'll keep making sure decision-makers know it.

Thank you to Shannon Marchand, James Johnson, Christopher McPherson, Dale Nally, Jerry Bellikka, Ranjit Tharmalingam, Todd Loewen, and Dan Williams for taking the time to meet with us.

🛠️💙 Building more than homes today.

Last Friday, the Supply-Build Canada team spent the day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Manitoba, rolling up our sleeves and supporting a cause that creates a lasting impact in our communities.

From framing walls and building studs to installing subflooring in the basement, it was an incredible day of teamwork, learning, and giving back to the community. Along the way, we even spotted products from some of our members and industry partners, including Tolko Industries Ltd., DuPont, Owens Corning Canada, Star Building Materials Ltd. WPG, SENCO, Epak Inc. and many more.

A huge thank you to Habitat for Humanity for the important work you do to help families build strength, stability, and independence through safe, affordable housing. 🏠✨

Good people. Hard work. Great cause.

Saskatchewan Legislative Day: Your Voice Was in the Room

Supply-Build Canada's advocacy team, joined by members, travelled to Regina to meet with Government of Saskatchewan officials, political staffers, and Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Sean Wilson - going to bat for your business and our industry.

We pushed on the issues that matter most to you: workforce shortages, youth unemployment, public infrastructure, and the impact of international trade on your supply chain. Officials were eager to hear about our workforce development and education programs - and the conversations were candid and productive.

The Saskatchewan Government has committed to continuing to work with Supply-Build Canada and its members. We're holding them to it - and we'll keep you posted every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Industry Insight Night in Winnipeg last Wednesday.

The honest conversations, diverse perspectives, and real-world experiences shared around the table reinforced the value of bringing industry leaders together face-to-face. Many of the insights that emerged simply wouldn't have happened over email or a video call.

A few key themes from the evening:
• Hiring and how to "sus out" good candidates during an interview is major challenge in our industry.
• Some rural municipalities make it extremely difficult to develop land and build homes.
• Robotics might change our industry sooner than we think.

We left the evening with valuable insights, new perspectives, and meaningful next steps. Most importantly, attendees reminded us that the challenges facing our industry are shared—and so are the opportunities.

A special thank you to American Express for supporting this event and helping make these important conversations possible.

We're looking forward to continuing the discussion.
