A Place Between - A 60's Scoop Arts Project

In 2017 Urban Shaman Gallery featured over 20 contemporary Indigenous artists who produced artworks, performances, writing & films in which they each describe a myriad of experiences on being adopted out or placed in care. The Urban Shaman Gallery has also commissioned new works by Scott Benesiinaabandan, Tasha Hubbard, George Littlechild, and Jessica McMann-Sparvier to be included in a group exhibition at the same time. With the recognition that dealing with the 60's Scoop is a move towards healing and reconciliation, and as the first and largest group exhibition on the 60's Scoop in Canada, the Urban Shaman Gallery is cognizant that here in Winnipeg there is a need to socially engage and involve the community.
