Over the weekend our primary rescue vehicle had some routine maintenance done. Some of the work was expected, and some of it was a fun surprise. About $1200 later we are up and running thanks to our incredible friends Mark and Ashley for helping us get back on the road. The animals, as always, were less than helpful with the actual work but they rallied around for support nonetheless.

We have had a very busy couple weeks and we look forward to sharing what has been happening behind the scenes.

One of the most bittersweet parts of running an animal sanctuary is caring for so many senior sweethearts.

Growing old is a privilege that most farm animals are never given, so we feel incredibly grateful to provide a safe and loving retirement for so many deserving residents.

Alongside our special needs critters, our senior residents require an extraordinary level of care. From extra feed and unlimited access to hay, to arthritis pain management, frequent vet visits, bloodwork, and additional hoof maintenance, their needs are extensive. We pay close attention to even the smallest changes in their daily routines to ensure they stay happy, healthy, and comfortable.

If you’d like to help support the extra care our seniors need, check out the 🔗 below! Contributions start at just $5 a month and go directly toward keeping these sweet souls comfy and cared for in their golden years 💛

Everette and Dottie have a cosmic bond that cannot be explained. From the moment Dottie came into our care, Everette took his role of big brother very seriously. You can find these two snacking on hay, napping in the sun, and sharing loving moments.

If you want to see these two in person we have 11 tickets left for our June 6 tour. Attending our tour is the perfect way to meet our residents and have a life changing afternoon.

Spiderman read somewhere that yogic practices enhance muscular strength and body flexibility ... he's taken yoga to heart.

Yoga at FARRM is back! It is a chance for you to find your flow with rescued souls.

Taught by instructor Jolene of Average Jo Yoga, the animals are free to interact (or not) as they choose, while you are guided through an easy yoga session. The animals usually tune into the calming energy (and in some cases may choose to take over your mat!). After the session, there will be time to visit with the animals – no tour is provided, but there will be volunteers who can answer any questions you may have.

Boris has been with us since the end of March and we wanted to show you a visual update on how well he is doing with us. He is a true testament to why organizations like FARRM matter so very much. Without our intervention, Boris would be surviving but not thriving. It's been just a few short months but look how much healthy weight Boris has gained, it makes us so happy.

If you missed Boris's original intake story, this sweet gentleman was an owner surrender. When he arrived, Boris was severely emaciated & far underweight at less than 100 pounds instead of the expected 400. We focused on supportive care, monitoring his intake, and continuing treatment while giving him time to recover.

Despite everything, Boris is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and trusting.

Thank you for supporting our mission ... because of you animals like Boris are given a second chance at a life full of comfort, joy, and love.

💫VOLUNTEER ANNIVERSARY: Brianna💫

We usually save Monday's for our Medical Monday updates but we wanted to spotlight another way we share this valuable information.

This month marks 2 years of Brianna joining our team as our Newsletter Writer! When she reached out to us wanting to help out remotely we quickly realized one of her strengths was compiling a newsletter. This is something we've had been wanting to put more time and effort into, but it always got pushed to the back burner. The overwhelm of day to day animal care often pushes projects like this aside, but since we've had Brianna help us out we've been able to ramp up these newsletters to once a month. Our newsletter gives you behind the scenes first glance at everything going on at FARRM. If we have events in the works- you'll hear about it first. If we have a medical story to share- you'll get it in your inbox! We really use it as a personal connection to YOU and it helps us immensely.

So please join us in THANKING Brianna for bringing our newsletter to life!

If you are interested in getting our monthly emails comment "newsletter" below and we'll send you a link to subscribe!

We had to share the funniest photo of the week... possibly the whole month.

Baby likes to show off her unique sleeping positions. Have you seen anything cuter? Look at those ears and that silly little face.
