We wanted to give a shout out to The Grinning Goat Vegan Boutique for choosing FARRM as their sanctuary of the month for August. The Grinning Goat is a Calgary-based online vegan boutique dedicated to thoughtfully chosen women’s and men’s footwear, bags, accessories, and everyday essentials, and everything is 100% animal-free. Since 2017 they have been donating 1% of every sale to animal sanctuaries across Canada and have donated over $15,000 to date! If you’ve come for a visit recently, you may have spotted this dynamic duo squawking, splashing, and causing a little bit of ducky mischief around the property!

We’re so honoured to officially introduce Donald & Daisy💛

FARRM was contacted by a concerned citizen who was helping a neighbour with two newly acquired ducks. The neighbour had rescued these two domestic ducks from a less-than-ideal situation and was desperately searching for a safe place for them to call home. Unable to keep them in their backyard long-term, they reached out to FARRM for help.

Since arriving, Donald and Daisy have settled seamlessly into the FARRM family. Originally quite skeptical of people, these two have quickly blossomed into social butterflies around the property.

These days, you can find Donald and Daisy splashing through mud puddles, foraging around the barnyard, snoozing alongside the sheep, or bashfully following the humans around. The pair is completely inseparable and rarely leaves the other’s side.

Watching their true personalities shine now that they’re in a safe, comfortable environment has been so special.

Now, both Donald and Daisy are looking for their very own monthly Sponsor Heroes, with sponsorships starting at just $15 a month!

Voices for the Voiceless Music Festival SPOTLIGHT!

Two more bands playing at the Voices for the Voiceless music event are Easy Street and Odd 1 Out Band !

Easy Street brings a laid-back blend of blues, jazz, and classic grooves, creating a sound that's both soulful and timeless. Their versatile style moves effortlessly between mellow melodies and upbeat rhythms, making every performance engaging and memorable.

Odd 1 Out offers the timeless sounds of classic rock at performance, with solid musicianship and a polished, authentic sound. Their mix of familiar favourites and enduring classics creates an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.

Somewhere right now, an animal is living in silence.

No one hears the cries behind the closed doors. No one sees the fear in their eyes. No one knows the years of neglect, loneliness, hunger, pain, or heartbreak they have endured.

And for many, the world will never know their names.

That is why as sanctuaries we tell their stories.

Their lives matter. Their pain is real, even when no one is there to witness it. Their little hearts beat just as fiercely as ours. They feel fear. They feel loneliness. They long for comfort. They want to live and be loved.

When we give everyone a name, a story, a face that the world can see, we are saying:

You exist.
You matter.
You are seen.
Your life is not meaningless.

Every rescued animal carries a history with them. Some stories are heartbreaking. Some are difficult to tell. But their stories deserve to be heard—not because they need pity, but because their existence deserves to be acknowledged.

We tell their stories so that the animals still suffering in silence might not remain invisible. So that they too can have a chance to be seen.

We tell stories so someone might stop scrolling, open their heart, and realize that there is a life behind every pair of eyes.

And we tell them because sometimes, the greatest gift we can give an animal who has been forgotten is to make sure they are never forgotten again.

Their stories are their voices.

So we will keep telling them.
We will keep remembering them.
We will keep bringing their lives into the light.

Because every animal deserves to be more than a statistic.

They deserve to be known.
