Technology.
One of the least dependable tools in our toolbox.

That is why we continually train with "old school" technology like maps and compasses.

Very far behind on a few "thank yous".

Huge shout out to Parkland Search and Rescue Society, Brazeau Regional Search & Rescue, Alberta Junior Forest Warden Association and Edmonton Regional Search & Rescue Association for having a few of your members come help us with fundraising events (Pigeon Lake Concerts and recently a casino).

Without help from other teams and other connections, many of us smaller teams struggle.

Thank you to Adam and his team at Rocky Mountain House Search & Rescue for training up our new recruits!
We have 2 new members and 4 MITs (just waiting to pass their practicals!)

If you want to be part of a great community, either as a searcher or someone to help behind the scenes (fundraising/preventative SAR) please reach out!

We are ready to grow our team and get back into our communities to do what we do best!

Fantastic weekend for sure!

Another spectacular weekend was had with Search and Rescue members from throughout the province, as well as a few Norwegian SAR members.

As always, the experience was both enjoyable and enriching, featuring opportunities for learning, networking, and team-building.

A tour of STARS was conducted, and we had the pleasure of meeting the skilled pilots and medics from STARS, the RCMP, and 417 Cold Lake Air rescue.

Choosing between sessions such as medical review, tracking, bone identification, search enhancement tools, and many others presented a difficult decision for many.

The SAR games, a friendly competition, on Sunday allowed us to review our SAR skills and work alongside members from other teams.

Our appreciation goes to Search and Rescue Association of Alberta for organizing another fantastic event and for their continued commitment to bringing SAR teams together.
