🎭 A quick update from The Manluk Theatre! 🎭

There seems to have been a little confusion following Saturday's fire, so here's your official Theatre manager's announcement:

The shows are NOT cancelled. The show must go on!

There was a misprint in one of the local papers regarding show times. The correct performance times are:
• Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 PM
• Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 PM

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before curtain time so you can get settled before the magic begins.

The smoke odour in the lobby is now almost completely gone.
Most importantly, the auditorium itself suffered absolutely no damage—no smoke, no water, and no fire damage. We're incredibly fortunate. While our new metal roof certainly helped, the real heroes are the firefighters who responded quickly and professionally to protect our building. We are deeply grateful for their skill and dedication.

Tickets are still available for $42 at www.manluktheatre.ca

Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. We can't wait to welcome you back to the theatre this weekend!

This weekend’s fire at the Memorial Arts Centre was devastating, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted.

Like so many in our community, we are saddened by the damage and loss. The Memorial Arts Centre has been a gathering place for creativity, connection, and celebration for countless people over the years, making this especially difficult to see.

We are thankful to report that while there is some minor smoke odour in the theatre lobby and front areas, the theatre itself was not damaged and remains intact.

Thank you to the firefighters and emergency crews who responded so quickly, and to everyone who has reached out with messages of support. The strength of this community continues to shine through, even in difficult moments.

It's was dreadful to see the historic Wetaskiwin Arts and Memorial Center burn down yesterday evening.

The Manluk Theatre is extremely grateful to the firefighters, police and those who serve our community. They worked hard to contain the fire and protected our theatre, as well as surrounding structures.

With some assessment and clean up, we will be ready for our patrons again.

✨🎭 Something magical is happening at the theatre… 🎭✨

The lights are warming up, the stage is being set, and stories are waiting in the wings to come alive. Every rehearsal, every cue, every laugh and gasp from the audience is part of what makes live theatre so special.

We’re so grateful for our community of artists, volunteers, and audiences who keep the magic going. Whether you’re a lifelong theatre lover or stepping into the audience for the very first time—you belong here.

Every production needs a cast.

Some people shine in the spotlight. Others work behind the scenes. Every role matters.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the incredible diversity of people who make theatre possible and reaffirm our commitment to creating a space where everyone is welcome, respected, and valued.

Because the best productions happen when everyone has a place in the story.

Happy Pride Month!
