We're honoured that Handbags for Hospice has received the 2026 Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Event Impact Award.

As we approach our 10th year, we're celebrating the incredible volunteers, sponsors, donors, community partners, attendees, and Hospice team members who have made this event what it is today.

Over the past nine years, Handbags for Hospice has raised more than $1.7 million (gross) while bringing our community together to support compassionate hospice care and raise awareness about the important role hospice plays in the lives of patients and families.

This recognition belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey. Thank you for helping make Handbags for Hospice a true purse with a purpose. 💜

Sometimes you just need to hit pause, step outside, and breathe in the crisp fall air.

Last week, our Hospice team did just that at our annual Camp Dragonfly staff retreat at Camp Ki-wa-y. Surrounded by autumn leaves and lake views, we gathered to recharge, connect, and celebrate one another.

From yoga and archery to group games, craft tables, and s'mores, the day was packed with rest, laughter, and creativity. We also took time to honor our team's dedication with our staff recognition awards.

Taking care of others starts with taking care of each other. 🫶

💜 What a day. What a community. What an incredible Hike for Hospice! 💜

Our 14th Annual Hike for Hospice brought families, friends, supporters — and even a few furry friends — together for a day filled with remembrance, celebration and connection.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised more than $120,000 gross! 🎉

Every dollar raised helps Hospice Waterloo Region continue to provide compassionate care, support and connection to people and families when they need it most.

To our hikers, donors, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who cheered us on — thank you. Your support made this special day possible, and we are so grateful. 💜

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. A day when we at Hospice Waterloo Region remember and honour all of the children, families and communities impacted by residential schools.

Reconciliation calls each of us to learn, unlearn, listen, respect and build supportive relationships that honour every person's experience.

We are grateful for every opportunity, and commit to creating a community where everyone receives wholistic care during the transitions of life, death, and bereavement.

We are so proud and honoured to share that we have partnered with the Grand River Conservation Authority and Grand River Conservation Foundation to install a Wind Phone at the Dumfries Conservation Area. The Wind Phone offers people experiencing grief or loss a place to pause, express their thoughts and feelings and speak to someone they have lost, allowing their words to be carried on the wind. Originating in Japan, Wind Phones have been established in communities around the world.
