We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Janice Attwell.

Janice was an accomplished artist, a loyal friend, and deeply loved by many. She was a determined self‑advocate, one of the original members of SABF, and a dedicated community volunteer at Rainbow Kitchen. She found great joy in painting, listening to music, and being a social butterfly—often hosting joyful gatherings in her home.

Janice passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

We extend our sincere sympathies to her family and to all who knew and loved her.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Lorenz.

Following a sudden illness, Bernice passed away surrounded by care, kindness, and her favourite familiar faces. We extend our sincere thanks to our staff—past and present—who supported her, offering comfort, presence, companionship and compassion right to the end.

Bernice was a force, a personality, and someone who left a strong and lasting impression on everyone she met. She was an artist and enjoyed using stickers to make her art. She loved her stuffy family and dining out.

Heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew and cared about Bernice.

This week we’re celebrating Social Work Week (March 8–14, 2026) and the amazing social workers we work with every day.

Social work isn’t easy. It takes compassion, resilience, and a strong commitment to supporting individuals, families, and communities through some of life’s toughest moments. We see that dedication firsthand, and we’re so grateful for the care, advocacy, and collaboration social workers bring to the people we support.

This year’s theme, “Social Work: Here to Stay!”, highlights the lasting impact social workers have in strengthening communities, promoting social justice, and uplifting the dignity and self-worth of people across BC.

BeConnected Support Services is proud to be a female-owned and led organization! Together we celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness, take actions for equality, and

Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day. Today we take the time to honour the girls, women, female-identifying and two-spirit people making incredible strides towards a more equitable society free from violence and discrimination.

This year, the day is a little shorter — 23 hours long🙄. But even with one less hour, our appreciation, respect, and commitment to supporting women everywhere remain just as strong.
