Saanich Neighbourhood Place (SNP) has been supporting families with a range of programs and resources for parents, youth and young children since 1997. Our mission is to provide services that help develop the well-being of families in an accessible and inclusive environment that welcomes everyone. Our licensed childcare Full o'Beans Preschool, offers part-day programs Sept-June. Full o'Beans full

-time programs and Beansprouts Infant and Toddler Care offer licensed childcare spaces to the families of Saanich, year round. We provide high quality, accessible early learning and care experiences in a safe, nurturing environment. Drop In (by registration!) playgroups are also available at our locations for a social play experience - check our website for details! Family Support programming includes a wide range of options, from parenting classes, pre/post natal support and education, youth programs and services, LGTBQ2+ child, youth and parent programming, dads' programming and one-to-one support. Food Security programs offer classes and support to assist families in learning how to prepare and serve healthy meals, as well as access to available food resources.

🌟 A huge thank you to First West Foundation () for awarding us a 2026 Island Savings Endowment Fund Grant! 💙

This generous support helps us provide specialized parenting programs that strengthen family connections and support parents through challenging circumstances. These programs include our parenting program for incarcerated fathers at the Vancouver Island Correctional Centre, as well as services for mothers and fathers participating in the New Roads Residential Recovery Program.

We are incredibly grateful for this investment in families and communities. Thank you for helping us create opportunities for parents and children to build stronger, healthier futures together. 💕

🌽🍓🥕 We had so much fun at today’s Felt Farmer’s Market Craft Session during our Young Parent Play & Connect Program!

Our participants created these adorable farmer’s market-inspired felt food items while enjoying time to connect, share experiences, and build friendships with other young parents. Meanwhile, their little ones had the opportunity to play and explore together. 💕✨

We love creating opportunities for young parents to connect with one another in a welcoming and supportive environment.

If you’re a parent under 30, we’d love to have you join us! Our Young Parent Play & Connect drop-in program runs every Monday from 9:30 AM–11:00 AM.

🎨✨ The last day of Preschool is quickly approaching, and our little learners have been reflecting on their favourite Preschool memories!

Our teachers asked the children what they liked most about Preschool, and their responses were absolutely adorable. From playing with friends and exploring nature to eating snacks and learning new things, their answers—and the accompanying drawings—brought lots of smiles to our faces. 💕

As some of our Preschoolers get ready to begin Kindergarten this September, we are so proud of how much they have grown. While we will miss them dearly, we know they are ready for their next big adventure! 🎓🌟

Thank you for sharing your creativity, laughter, and joy with us. We can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll do! ❤️

🦉✨ Look at these adorable burlap owls! ✨🦉

Inspired by the owls they've been spotting in the forest, the children in our childcare program were excited to create their very own burlap owl crafts. Through observation, creativity, and hands-on learning, they brought these feathered forest friends to life!

We love seeing the children connect with nature and express what they discover through art. 💚🌲🎨

🧚‍♀️✨ Fairy Door Adventure! ✨🧚‍♂️

The children in our childcare program had so much fun painting fairy door rocks with Teacher Mel! 🎨🌿

With lots of creativity and imagination, they transformed ordinary rocks into beautiful fairy doors and then headed into the forest to hide them for others to discover. 🪨✨🌲

It was a wonderful way to explore nature, express creativity, and add a little magic to the outdoors!🧚‍♀️💚

This much-loved event, led by two amazing Kirstens, was a huge hit once again this year. From clothing and shoes to hats and accessories, there were so many wonderful items to browse and take home.👚👖👟🧢

We couldn't have done it without our fantastic Friday night setup crew and dedicated Saturday volunteers. Your hard work, energy, and enthusiasm made all the difference—you are absolutely amazing!

And most importantly, thank you to our wonderful community for coming out and participating in the swap. We hope you found some hidden gems for yourself and your family and enjoyed being part of this sustainable community event. 💚♻️

Are you a parent under 30 and looking for a fun, creative activity to enjoy with your child?

Join us for a Felt Farmer’s Market Craft Session during our Young Parent Play & Connect on Monday, June 15th!

We'll have snacks, coffee, and all the craft supplies ready—just bring yourself and your child. Together, we'll create adorable felt fruits, vegetables, and other farmer's market-inspired items while connecting with other young families in a welcoming space. 💜🧡💚

💜 BC Seniors' Week (June 1–7) 💜

This week, we celebrate BC Seniors' Week and recognize the valuable contributions older adults make in our communities every day.

This year's theme, "Experience Matters," highlights the lifelong knowledge, resilience, and wisdom that seniors bring to our families, workplaces, and neighbourhoods.

At Saanich Neighbourhood Place, we're proud to offer Cooking Connections, a welcoming program for adults aged 55+ to gather, build friendships, share stories, and enjoy a meal together. 🍲✨

Thank you to the seniors in our community for all that you do. Your experience, kindness, and contributions help make our neighbourhood stronger and more connected.
