Happy Friday everyone!!

I wanted to share a super fun program that ASCD is running until mid November.

In partnership with the Blue Jay's, the ASCD is running the Jay's Care Rookie League drop-in which provides a platform for a wide range of children and youth experiencing diverse barriers to join together and participate in highly inclusive, mixed ability, safe and fun baseball programming. Rookie League is the ultimate safe-space for any young person looking to find their team, develop new skills and have fun! It is drop-in, but registration is recommended 🙂

April is National Gardening Month so plant some seeds, herbs, vegetables, or flowers and watch them grow! Some great ones to start with are:

1. GREEN ONIONS - One of the easiest to grow. Cut them an inch from the roots and leave them in a glass of water.
2. LEEKS - Leeks regrow the same way as green onions. Leave about two inches of leek from the bottom, and place them in a bowl of water. This may take longer to grow than onions because they are larger.
3. LETTUCE - Place the stem of the lettuce in a half inch of water. It will need direct sunlight. Change the water every other day and there will be fresh leaves in just a few days!
4. SWEET POTATO - Cut the potato in half and suspend it at the top of a glass of water using toothpicks. Make sure half of the potato is submerged and it gets lots of bright light. Once the roots are about four inches long, you can remove them and place them in water. Once they grow another inch, you can replant them in some soil.
5. HERBS - Herbs can be very easy to regrow. You will need 2-3 inches of stem. Place the stems upright in a glass of water. When the new roots begin to sprout, transfer the herbs into a pot of soil.
