As part of Fix a Leak Week, the CRD will be offering free leak detection kits at various locations, including Saanich Municipal Hall (770 Vernon Avenue).

Kits will be available for pickup next week (March 16 to 20) during regular business hours.

Leak detection

In one year, a leak of one drop per second can waste 10,000 litres of water - more than enough to supply all the water you need for cooking for one year!

The leak detection kits include:
dye tablets to check for leaking toilets;
a drip gauge to measure how much water is being wasted from a dripping faucet;
a shower bag to determine shower fixture flows; bathroom faucet aerator;
a Household Guide to Water Efficiency; and a water shut-off tag to help you locate your main water shut-off in case of emergency and other informational brochures.

Saanich's Active Transportation Plan includes, in the long term, a bicycle network. The Neighbourhood Bikeways are meant to use streets with low traffic volumes and traffic speeds. Places where you might consider it safe to bike alongside motor vehicle users.

To this end, Saanich is looking for your input to help identify and prioritize streets and paths suitable for the purpose of Neighbourhood Bikeways.

On this page you can find an online survey about this issue. Please take the time before Dec. 14 to respond, and provide Saanich's planners with your views and insights with respect to bicycling around our community.

The Camosun Community Association invites you to attend the Annual General Meeting tonight at Landsdowne Middle School, where keynote presenter Dave Saunders will address the question: Why is it so hard to access primary healthcare in Canada right now?

Across the country and here in Saanich, people are struggling to find or keep a family doctor, nurse practitioner, or timely access to care. The reasons are complex and they are interconnected.
Mr. Saunders' presentation will explore how the Community Healthcare Systems ' community resilience approach addresses the issue at hand; traditional approaches - focused only on clinical staffing or new payment models - are not enough.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The Camosun Community Association Board.
