There’s something special about a community coming together to celebrate the simple joys of summer. 🍓

Thank you to everyone who made the Saanich Strawberry Fest such a wonderful event!

It was a pleasure connecting with neighbours outside of CCA and to see some of the local organizations, volunteers, and families who attended the event.

Did you go? If you did, we hope you while enjoyed the delicious strawberries, great conversations, and a true sense of community today!

Events like this remind us that the strong communities in Saanich are built through connection, kindness, and the people who generously give their time to make them happen.

Music in the Park is back Saanich!

The season’s first event features current and classic hits by Fine Spirits on Tuesday, July 7th. The fun starts, starts at 6pm at Goward House, located at 2495 Arbutus Road.

Bring a blanket, or some lawn chairs, and don’t forget your dancing shoes!!

Camosun Community Association is prod to be part of the Saanich Community Association Network’s table at the Uptown Multicultural Festival today!!

The event is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration that brings the community together to celebrate the diversity in art, music, dance and food with vibrant cultural traditions from around the world.

This year’s festival is today, Sunday, June 21st, from 11am to 3pm on Uptown Boulevard.

Visit the SCAN both and meet the many community association representatives present. You’ll will enjoy a full schedule of music, dance, and performance art on our main stage. Food from vendors representing international cuisines and interactive booths and displays from local cultural and community groups.

Additionally today is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It's a time to recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis, if you can, take part in the events offered by the nearby Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.

And finally, Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s today.

Did you see the letter to the editor written by the Chair of the Saanich Neighbourhood Community Associations SCAN in the paper recently?

The letter ran in the May 24th issue of Saanich News and encourages residents to visit the SCAN booth at the Uptown Multicultural Festival on June 21st to learn more about Saanich's community associations and engage with neighbours. CCA President Kathleen Burton and GHCA's Sandy Mac are helping to organize SCAN's booth for the event, so you can bet CCA will be there.
