The Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of families in the developing world through the implementation of self-sustainable and innovative health improvement programs. Through its network of outpatient clinics and partnerships, FIMRC asserts a multidimensional strategy that includes clinical services, extensi
ve community outreach efforts and health education programs. Every year, approximately 900 individuals volunteer their time abroad and make a contribution in exchange for the experience FIMRC provides. Over 90% of FIMRC’s revenue is derived from our volunteer program, therefore funding their project sites across the globe. FIMRC UBC is the first chapter developed in Vancouver focused on promoting the FIMRC mission and raising awareness on global health, preventative health and healthcare accessibility issues within the community. Our goals include raising funds and much needed supplies for FIMRC project sites worldwide, developing relationships and network through community service and transforming the global perspective of students through FIMRC volunteer trips.
