What an Action Day! 💪🌿

Yesterday was our second Volunteer Invasive Species Action Day, and we were ready to get to work!

Our focus was tackling invasive European Buckthorn. Using the Titan, we removed these invasive trees, but we didn't stop there! Once the Buckthorn was removed, we planted several native tree saplings in their place, helping to create a healthier habitat for wildlife and a stronger forest for future generations.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty for conservation. Every tree removed and every sapling planted makes a difference!

Meet Our Summer Staff!

This summer, we're excited to welcome a fantastic group of students to the Lower Trent Conservation team! Over the coming months, they'll be helping with environmental education, stewardship projects, conservation area maintenance, monitoring, outreach events, and so much more.

Lower Trent Conservation

🌿 Discover the Hidden Gem of Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area! 🌿

Join Lower Trent Conservation on Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a guided ecology hike along the beautiful North Loop Trail.

Wander through picturesque meadows and towering pine plantations on this easy-to-walk trail and discover the plants, wildlife, and conservation efforts that make this landscape so special.

Led by Vern, our Ecology Technician, this unique outdoor experience offers the chance to explore one of the area's best-kept secrets while learning about local ecosystems, ecological restoration, invasive species management, and native plant stewardship. With more than 15 years of hands-on experience, Vern brings a wealth of knowledge and engaging stories from the field.
