Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community

On Saturday we enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community getting our gardens ready for winter! 🍂

Our wonderful volunteers rolled up their sleeves to get a number of chores accomplished including; clearing out the raised beds, transplanting the rhubarb, planting garlic, gathering the last of the harvest and geting started on bed repairs.

A huge ✨️THANK-YOU✨️ to everyone who came out, shared their time and helped wrap up another growing season. 💚

🎶🌿 *Celebrating World Singing Day * 🌿🎶

We had the pleasure of sharing an herb presentation and hands-on workshop with the Canadian Military Wives Choirs Trenton . Guests explored the wonderful world of herbs and created their own personalized tea blends, herbal bath salts, and body sugar scrubs using herbs of their choice.

Thank you to the Military Wives Choir for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to share our love of gardening, herbs, and the many ways they can bring a little comfort and joy into our lives. What a lovely way to celebrate World Singing Day!

🦃🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community

We’re thankful for our volunteers, and a garden that keeps on giving! Last week’s harvest was shared with our community, proving that good things grow when we grow together!

Hope your Thanksgiving is full of good food. Brussels sprouts included!

🌱 We were happy to welcome Councillor Zack Card to Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community for a visit! After connecting with one of our members in the community, an invitation was extended to come by and learn more about what we do.

We enjoyed showing him around, sharing a little of our 10-year history, and talking about the many ways our volunteers work to grow food and support our community. We’re grateful he took time out of his busy schedule to learn more about the gardens.

We’re also very appreciative of the support we’ve received from the City Of Quinte West over the years and look forward to continuing that positive relationship. Thanks for stopping by Zack, we hope you enjoyed the tour! 🌻

Summer may be winding down, but the garden is still growing!

As we head toward fall, some of our late-season veggies are really showing off! Our pumpkins are getting bigger by the day, and the luffas are growing long and strong. 🎃

And while the seasons change, our harvests continue! 🥕🍅 This week, we put together another large bag of fresh produce to donate to our local community. We’re grateful that our gardens can continue to provide fresh food right through the growing season.

There’s still plenty happening at Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community 🌻🍂
