What keeps us going? Kind people and organizations like Kerr Sprinkler Systems! For 3 years, Kerr has raised donations and awareness for our food bank by hosting a food drive with their clients.

Recently, our food bank lost a valuable member of our community. Agnes Ward, born in 1922, served Trenton Care & Share since the beginning. From our opening in 1985 to her retirement in 2019, Agnes was an active board member in various roles. She served as Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer. She was a fierce advocate and dedicated volunteer who was instrumental in our mission and growth. She will be greatly missed, and we are proud to continue her legacy in serving the Quinte West community.

Agnes' loved ones are hosting a Celebration of Life at the Seasons Retirement Centre this Saturday, October 24th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In place of flowers, donations to the National Air Force Museum of Canada, the Care & Share Food Bank, or Heart of Hastings Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Join us this Saturday at Quinte West's Medieval Madness Event! There will be duels, interactive events, and a vendor village! Entry is free, but if you're able, consider a donation to our food bank! We'll have barrels for food items and staff on-site to accept monetary donations. Come by, say hello, and enjoy the Medieval Madness!

Hunger Action Month Series: Our Story 🍎📈❄️💝

Hunger affects every part of Ontario, and at Trenton Care & Share, we're seeing more need than ever - a 15% increase in visits from 2024 to 2025! So far in 2026, we've served more than 1,300 people each month, and this fall and winter will be even busier. With back-to-school expenses and the busy holidays, families in our community will rely on supports like us. Thanks to our compassionate donors and 45+dedicated volunteers, we can work toward our mission of increasing access to food, no matter the season!

September is Hunger Action Month! Food bank use in Quinte West continues to rise rapidly, but that's just part of the story. Hunger across Ontario is growing - and public policies drive the root causes. These policies impact individuals and families- our friends and neighbours- who are struggling to make ends meet. Learning the connections between policy, poverty, and hunger is the first step towards lasting change.
