🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30 🧡
Today, our dragon boat community stands with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Survivors, families, and communities. We honour the children who never returned home from residential schools and commit to learning, listening, and acting on the path to reconciliation.
As paddlers, we know the power of moving together in rhythm. Reconciliation asks us to do the same: to align our actions with truth, respect Indigenous histories, and welcome Indigenous voices into our sport.
How we can show up today:
• Wear orange and encourage your team to do the same.
• Join a local or online event for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
• Learn the history of residential schools and reflect on how we can make dragon boat more inclusive.
Reconciliation is a daily practice. Let’s paddle forward with humility, respect, and shared purpose.
