It’s almost time to kick off bargaining! 📣

The legal timeframe in which CUPE 3903 Units 1, 2, & 3 can serve notice to bargaining is approaching VERY soon. ⌛️ To kick off this round of bargaining, we’re hosting a SPECIAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING! ✨

It’ll be 1-4PM on Wednesday, June 10, in hybrid format! 🗓️ Register in advance, and join us in-person at York University if you can (specific Keele Campus location TBA).

If you attend in-person, we’ll have refreshments for you and outdoor fun after the SGMM, plus you can meet some members of the Bargaining Team! 🥤🌳

In the space of a single year, the Writing Centre at York University held 6045 appointments, providing a wide range of crucial services for students to ensure their academic success. 📝

93% of those students say they would come back for more help. They can’t do that if those services are not available. ⚠️

York University is looking at major cuts to the Writing Centre, which will take essential resources away from the students who need them the most. 🪓

Tell York University to put student success first and immediately stop all plans to make cuts to the Writing Centre! 📬

The 2026 Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Convention wraps up today! 💫

CUPE 3903 delegates were there at the CLC Convention to make connections, build collective power, and show support for important issues. ✊

In collaboration with activists, delegates from unions like 3903 overwhelmingly voted to support a Palestine solidarity resolution that cuts ties with Histadrut, standing against occupation and in solidarity with workers worldwide. 🍉

Social unionism means making our communities better even beyond our own workplace. 🗺️ Together, we can make real change happen!

Bargaining for Units 1, 2, & 3 can begin as soon as June 1st! 👀 To get ready for it, any interested member is invited to an interactive training that will cover what bargaining is and how we can work together to win good contracts that solve workplace problems.

It’s International Workers’ Day! 🌐

Today, we celebrate the labour movement’s continued fight for equity, justice, and fair working conditions. ✊

Also known as May Day, today is an opportunity for CUPE 3903 members to reflect on our collective potential and imagine a better future for workers both here & abroad. 💭

The first step in building stronger solidarity can be as simple as showing up to a union meeting or event (like these members, who were at yesterday’s Celebration Lunch & Stewards’ Council meeting!) 💫

How do we protect our work from the increasing impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) and maintain our agency as educators? 🤖

Let’s talk about it! 🗣️ Join fellow CUPE 3903 members via Zoom on Monday, April 30, from 1-3PM.

Come to this Bargaining Townhall for a discussion about how AI intersects with bargaining, as we collaborate together to figure out how our bargaining proposals can make sure new technologies aren’t left unchecked. ✊
