We are writing to share a very important message from the Council of Community Living Ontario (CLO). The Council of CLO is a leadership and advocacy group made up of self-advocates from across the province, with lived experience of intellectual or developmental disabilities.

The Council of CLO recognizes the right of workers to advocate for fair wages and better working conditions. At the same time, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the right to feel safe, respected, and at peace where they live.

Group homes are homes first. We ask that the privacy, dignity, and safety of the people who live there be respected.

Community Living Month is a province-wide annual awareness campaign to recognize the accomplishments of the Community Living movement.
