Families have shared difficult experiences of restraint and seclusion in Ontario schools. Research shows that these practices cause harm and are not effective at reducing challenging behaviour.

Our new policy brief on restraint and seclusion outlines what Ontario needs: consistent provincial guidance focused on prevention, student rights, family involvement, appropriate supports and a plan to end involuntary seclusion and limit restraint to clearly defined emergency situations.

Calling People with Lived Experience: How Did You Find Your Voice?

The Council of Community Living Ontario is celebrating 30 years of advocacy and leadership this year! To mark this milestone, we want to share your story. You do not need to be a Council member to take part.

Tell us: How did you find your voice? How do you use it to make a difference? Submit your story in writing, video, song, poetry, art, photography, or another format that works for you.

Community Living Ontario’s inclusive employment initiative is led by four RWA Labour Market Facilitators.

Justin, Kiarra, Kelsey and Natalie have been hard at work throughout 2025–26, and we’re proud to share the impact of their work. They:

* Engaged with 420 employers who were open to hiring inclusively.

* Shared 370 jobs with prospective job seekers.

* Supported the successful hiring of 121 people.
