From Michelle Yeoh-autographed EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE merch and Paul Wong’s rare FIRE - HEART silkscreen print to BTS world tour concert tickets, the inaugural Fire Horse Auction had over 65 live and silent auction items donated by our community!

Together, the auction contributed to us raising $85,000 and counting toward our $300,000 anniversary fundraising goal. Your donations support Reel Asian’s year-round initiatives and annual festival to further champion pan-Asian storytellers.

Shoutout to Inside Out, Open Studio Contemporary Printmaking Centre, and CONSERVATION+CULTURE and thank you to all our donors for generously contributing to this year’s auction.

A defining Fire Horse celebration in Reel Asian’s 30th anniversary year and the fifth year of the award.

We gathered to celebrate three decades of championing pan-Asian storytelling and to honour OCAD University president and vice-chancellor Ana Serrano as the recipient of the 2026 Fire Horse Award.

Ana’s visionary leadership has helped shape Canada’s digital media landscape, creating opportunities for artists that continue to ripple across the industry. She truly embodies the spirit of the Fire Horse, and we are proud to recognize her as this year’s honouree.

That spirit of supporting artists and championing storytellers extended beyond the award itself. Together, we raised $85,000 and counting in support of Reel Asian’s year-round initiatives and festival.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this milestone celebration!

Thanks also to our donors, patrons, nominating committee, Fire Horse event committee, design partner Meat, print sponsor Printing Legacy, as well as Girl Love Fund and Lumière Photo Booth for making this event possible.

The Fire Horse Award recognizes trailblazers in film and media who create lasting impact and open doors for others. Support the next generation of Asian Canadian storytellers at reelasian.com/firehorsedonate.
