✨A big year end THANK YOU from our Executive Director, Golshan Abdmoulaie! VIBE works because of you, our community of collaborators and supporters. 💫

This Giving Tuesday, we recognize that an experience can be the most moving gift of all.

A lacrosse-stick making session becomes an immersion in collaboration, harvesting natural materials, and cultural knowledge.

With your support, VIBE can continue to support transformative programs like this one all year round, supporting artists like lacrosse stick maker Frank Belleau to connect and share with learners of all ages.

Take a look at a very special project from earlier this school year–a Woodland mural created by Grade 6 students at École Notre-Dame-du-Sault, led by the incredible Lucia Laford!

Through stories and paint, students explored the Seven Grandfather Teachings–Love, Respect, Courage, Wisdom, Humility, Honesty, and Truth–a set of guiding principles in Anishinaabe culture. Together, students and Lucia transformed a well-traveled stairwell into a vibrant tribute to culture, community, and connection.

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day! VIBE honours the heritage, wisdom, resilience, culture, and achievements of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

We are committed to supporting the Indigenous artists, and communities we are privileged to collaborate with. Through art and creativity, we work to ensure every young person's voice is heard and celebrated.

This featured artwork was created during our Woodland-style painting program in Thunder Bay. Led by artist Shelby Gagnon, students explored the 13 Moons, learning the foundations of Woodland style painting while creating their own pieces inspired by animals, plants, and food sources of Northwestern Ontario.

🥁 Feel the rhythm, find your voice!

Through our continued partnership with Scadding Court Community Centre, our recent African Drumming workshop brought children and youth together through the power of percussion. With guidance from VIBE Artist Juan Carlos, participants built confidence, connection, and creativity–one drumbeat at a time 💥🪘
