What a summer in Toronto Downtown West!

From live music, movies and chess to art, wellness, Doggie Fest and more, our neighbourhood was busy all summer long.

Thank you to everyone who came out, joined in and spent their summer with us. And a big thank you to all of our members, partners, artists and vendors who helped make it happen!

One last checkmate at The Deck! ♟️

Join us on October 3 from 11 AM-4 PM for our final Chess in the Park of the season with KNIGHTCAP!

We’re also making the day a Community Give Back Day in support of 129 Peter St. Shelter and Support Services. Stop by for a game and, if you’re able, bring warm clothing or seasonal essentials to donate for community members who may be spending significant time outdoors as the weather gets colder.

We’ll be collecting:
• New or gently used coats and jackets
• Sweaters and hoodies
• Hats and toques
• Gloves and mittens
• Other warm seasonal items

A look back at one of the ways we brought more colour to Toronto Downtown West this past summer.

We collaborated with artist Stephanie Boutari and Stickers Made EZ on a placemaking project that brought vibrant ground decals to the Rod Robbie Bridge, The Deck and parkettes along King Street West.

Designed to add unexpected moments of art to everyday spaces, invited people to slow down, look around and experience the district a little differently. The designs are inspired by various patterns found in the district such as train tracks, glass from buildings, and even a blue jay!

While the installation at the Rod Robbie Bridge has wrapped up, you can still spot the decals at The Deck and King Street parkettes.

We love seeing Festival Street come alive! 🎬✨

King Street West has been buzzing with screenings, activations, live entertainment and so much more as takes over Downtown Toronto.

Festival Street is on for one more day, until September 13, so there’s still time to come down and experience all the action.

And the festival isn’t over yet! TIFF continues until September 20, with plenty more to see and do across the city.
