TRAILER: What Did Toronto Bury Along With Its Shoreline? 🌊

Two hundred years ago, Lake Ontario reached as far north as Front Street. As Toronto grew, the shoreline was gradually filled in to make way for wharves, railways, industry, roads, and eventually the city we know today.

But traces of that earlier waterfront survived.

In our upcoming video, we follow our new shoreline plaques along Front Street, using artifacts and stories to explore the Indigenous presence, colonial settlement, trade, industry, and everyday lives that shaped this part of Toronto.
