Hello! CCSD has some exciting news. One of our projects, PACSLI, is in the process of partnering with Neptune Theatre at 1593 Argyle Street in Halifax to secure interpreters for the Come From Away performance on June 9 at 7:30 p.m.

In the meantime, we’d like to get an idea of how many seats we should reserve for this exciting performance. Please add your name in the comments if you’re interested.

Eligibility & Requirements

You must:
• Be Deaf or hard of hearing
• Be 19 years old or older
• Use ASL or LSQ
• Be comfortable with flexible group communication
• Have experience relevant to your area of study
• Commit to attending the full program

Program Dates:
• Signed Music & De’VIA: July 11 – August 15, 2027 (4 weeks)
• Theatre: June 27 – August 15, 2027 (6 weeks)
• Mini Deaf Expo: August 12, 13 & 14, 2027 (included)

📍 Location: Deaf Culture Retreat Centre
2956 Route 530, Grande-Digue, NB
(Home of the Deaf Arts Academy!)

If eligible, you must submit:

1. Portfolio (based on your stream):
• De’VIA: Max. 10 images (JPG or PNG)
• Theatre: 3 videos (maximum 5 minutes each)
• Signed Music: 1–2 videos (maximum 3 minutes each)
Video formats accepted: AVI, MOV, MPEG, MP4, WMV

2. CV / Resume
Include academic and/or professional artistic experience

3. Two reference letters

4. Video (1 minute)
In ASL or LSQ explaining why you want to join DAA
(Screening may include an interview)
