🚨 BREAKING: Another shipment of Marineland’s surviving belugas has left Canada.

3 males—Cyprus, Jasper, & Xavier—are headed to SeaWorld San Diego, marking the 4th transfer from the deteriorating park.

Marineland’s surviving belugas are being divided among 5 aquariums—many of which have active breeding programs.

Animal Justice is calling on every facility receiving Marineland’s belugas to prove these transfers are truly about rescue by publicly pledging that these whales will never be used in breeding programs.

This generation of belugas MUST be the last to suffer in captivity 🐋

Canada allows farmed animals to suffer in transit 💔

Animals are deprived of food, water, & rest for lengthy journeys, up to 36 hours for some species, with temperatures inside trucks sometimes soaring above 40°C in the summer & plunging below -30°C in the winter.

Pigs, who can be transported for up to 28 hours without food, water, & rest, are especially vulnerable to heat stress because they can't sweat to cool themselves.

Canada's weak transport rules leave animals without basic protections—& industry pressure helps keep it that way.

Today is . Every year, countless reptiles are subjected to unimaginable cruelty at expos across Canada.

At these events, Animal Justice has documented lizards, snakes, turtles, & other reptiles trapped in tiny containers under bright indoor lighting, where large crowds can examine & often handle them. These reptiles have nowhere to hide & are completely unable to express their natural behaviours, which causes extreme psychological suffering.

Lizards are wild animals. They have complex needs & thrive in environments that are almost impossible to replicate outside their natural habitats. In captivity, they can suffer severe stress, chronic illnesses, or die long before their natural life expectancy.

These animals need legal protection from cruelty in the exotic pet trade! 💔🦎

🚨 BREAKING: 6 more belugas have been removed from Marineland, leaving 11 belugas & 4 dolphins in the deteriorating tanks.

4 females—Caspian, Peekachu, Secord, & Rain—are headed to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. The 2 males—Zephyr & Balor—are being moved to Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. Both aquariums breed belugas.

Canada could have prohibited breeding as a mandatory condition of these export permits. Instead, our government is allowing these whales to remain trapped in the cruel cycle of captivity & commercial breeding, undermining Canada’s national anti-whale-captivity law 👎

DEVASTATING: 1,500 young pigs were killed in a barn fire in Pansy, Manitoba 💔

Every year, hundreds of thousands of animals die in across Canada. Despite this, barns in most provinces have fewer fire-safety requirements than buildings with "human occupancy", leaving them exempt from mandatory inspections & prevention plans.

We need stronger laws to protect animals trapped in factory farms 😔🐷

Animal Justice joined animal advocates in celebrating the one year anniversary of secret animal experiments being exposed at St. Joseph's Health Care London.

Thanks to the bravery of whistleblowers & pressure from the public, Ontario officially banned invasive medical research on dogs & cats. St. Joseph’s ended its dog testing program, & surviving dogs were released into the care of a rescue organization.

However, the hospital is still experimenting on pigs, rats, & mice.

🎾 Game, set, rally for hens! We’re taking our Sobeys campaign to the skies today at the National Bank Open!

While tennis fans watch the women’s quarterfinals at Sobeys Stadium, a massive aerial banner is circling overhead with one clear message: SOBEYSHURTSANIMALS.CA

Advocates are also on the ground outside the stadium, calling attention to the harsh reality faced by thousands of hens trapped in cages on farms supplying Sobeys.

🐔 It’s time for Sobeys to keep its promise & ban cages.
