Did you know, World Cabin Crew Appreciation Day / International Flight Attendant Day was started by a Canadian Flight Attendants Union and celebrated globally since 2015?

Aviation doesn’t move without In‑Flight Services. Flight attendants are the safety leaders, calm professionals, and compassionate caregivers who protect and support every passenger, on every flight, every day.

Flight attendants are the keepers of safety and service.

- They are trained first and foremost as safety professionals
- They manage emergencies with confidence and precision
- They create a safe, welcoming environment at 35,000 feet

This year, Shooting Stars Academy campers will explore the world of In‑Flight Services up close, learning from real flight attendants, practicing hands‑on safety and service activities, and discovering what it takes to become the calm, capable leaders passengers rely on.

The future of aviation needs them — and it starts with exposure.

Most people see the aircraft.
Few ever see the people who make flight possible.

Behind every safe takeoff, every smooth landing, and every aircraft in the sky, there’s an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) — a thinker, a builder, a troubleshooter, and a guardian of aviation safety.

And right now, Canada needs more of them.

Across the country, AMEs are retiring faster than new ones are entering the field. That means today’s youth have a rare opportunity: to step into a career where their skills matter, their curiosity is valued, and their work keeps the entire aviation system moving.

This summer, Shooting Stars Academy is opening that world to young people. Campers will get hands‑on with real aircraft components, learn how AMEs diagnose and solve problems, and discover how engineering, mechanics, and innovation come together to keep aviation safe.

They’ll meet the professionals who do this work every day — and see themselves in careers they may never have known existed.

Aviation’s future depends on the next generation of builders, fixers, innovators, and leaders.

Let’s show them what’s possible.

Aviation doesn't move without Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs). They're the hands, mind, and problem solvers who keep ever aircraft safe, airworthy, and ready for takeoff.

AMEs are the backbone of aviation.
- They inspect, repair, and certify aircraft
- They ensure every flight is safe
- They keep airlines, airports and operators moving

With Canada facing a significant AME labour shortage, the industry needs the next generation more than ever - skilled, curious young people ready to build, repair, innovate and lead

This year, Shooting Stars Academy campers will dive into the AME career pathway, exploring real tools, real components, and real stories from the professionals who keep aviation running.

The future of aviation needs them — and it starts with awareness.
