Celebrating National AccessAbility Week and recognizing the meaningful ways individuals contribute to their communities through work and volunteering.

Kyle enjoys connecting with new people through his role at Metro and takes pride in the work he does each day. Jason has dedicated years to volunteering with Community Care of West Niagara, helping sort donated food items and giving back to his community with care and commitment. Janice loves spending time volunteering at Community Care of West Niagara, where she connects with seniors, shares conversations, and lends a helping hand wherever needed.

Their stories highlight the importance of inclusion, purpose, and community connection. We are proud to celebrate the individuals we support and the positive impact they make every day.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn about, recognize, and honour the histories, cultures, contributions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

As we work to build inclusive and supportive communities where everyone belongs, we encourage our community to take time to listen, learn, and reflect. This playlist is a great place to start meaningful learning and deepen understanding of Indigenous perspectives, experiences, and stories.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, diversity, inclusion, and the importance of creating communities where people feel accepted and supported for who they are. 🏳️‍🌈

This month, we recognize and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the importance of kindness, respect, belonging, and showing up for one another in meaningful ways — not only during Pride Month, but throughout the year.

Don’t miss events hosted by community organizations across Niagara throughout the month, including the Pride Flag Raising at Niagara Region Headquarters in Thorold on June 1 at 3:30 p.m. and Speaking with Pride at Brock University on June 4 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, followed by a flag-raising ceremony.

National Indigenous History Month is a time to recognize and honour the histories, cultures, voices and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, while continuing to strengthen relationships within our communities.

This month, we’re highlighting “A Community-Engaged Evaluation of Bethesda’s Clinical Adult Services with Indigenous Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD),” a collaborative project between Bethesda Adult Clinical Services, Brock University (), and Community Living Six Nations. Special thanks to students Emma Milson and Emily Titone for their contributions to the project.

Together, this work aims to better understand and evaluate services for Indigenous adults with IDD while ensuring Indigenous perspectives help shape and guide the approach.

During National AccessAbility Week, we’re celebrating the strengths, contributions and experiences of people with disabilities while recognizing the importance of creating accessible, inclusive communities where everyone can belong and thrive.

The annual event celebrates the contributions of people with disabilities, promotes inclusion and highlights the ongoing efforts to remove physical, attitudinal and systemic barriers across Canada.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to feel included, connected and able to fully participate in their community.

Blossom Together is more than a group. It is a supportive space where young teenage girls are building confidence, self-esteem and meaningful connections with one another. 🌸

Throughout the sessions, they have explored topics like self-worth, social media pressures, body image, handling criticism and learning how to show up for themselves with confidence and self-compassion. Through creative activities, honest conversations, and reflection, the girls are encouraged to embrace their individuality and recognize their strengths.

With six participants, Blossom Together has grown into a welcoming environment filled with encouragement, vulnerability and genuine connection. The girls have continued building supportive relationships both during and outside of sessions by staying connected and supporting one another along the way.

A special thank you to Aaliyah Thompson, Psychotherapist, and Natasha Milana, Psychotherapist, for creating a space where young girls feel empowered, supported and encouraged to grow into their authentic selves.

Celebrating 20 Years of Service! 🎉

We are proud to recognize Colton Brockwell, Behaviour Counsellor in the Community Response Program and Intensive Treatment Program, for 20 years with Bethesda.

Colton joined Bethesda in search of meaningful work and has spent the last two decades making a positive impact in the lives of the people we support. He shares that seeing individuals thrive and hearing appreciation from their families have been among the most rewarding parts of his journey.

We are grateful for Colton’s ongoing commitment and the care he brings to the individuals, families and team members he supports each day.

A great day of community connection at one of our homes!

People we support recently hosted a yard sale, selling gently used items and welcoming support from the community through donated goods. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, donated, helped organize, and supported the event’s success.

Proceeds from donated items will help fund a community BBQ this summer, creating more opportunities for connection, friendship, and fun together.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

Opportunities to play, build confidence, make friends, and feel part of a team can have such a meaningful impact for children and youth. We’re incredibly grateful to the The May Court Club of St. Catharines for their generous support of the Bethesda Bulldogs Sports Club, an inclusive, adaptive sports program that helps create those experiences for the children and families we support.

Thank you for investing in programs that help children and youth connect, grow, and thrive through sport and community.

Our hearts are so full today! Last night we gave away $61,450 to exceptional, worthy charity organizations. It’s why we do, what we do. We thank everyone who has supported us and continues to help. Thank you 💗
