The first of four coastal beach sprint regattas in Ontario this summer took place over the weekend in St. Catharines and saw a record number of rowers take on the waves at Lakeside Park Beach.

Solo action at RowOn Beach Sprint Cup Series #1 from yesterday at Lakeside Beach in St. Catharines! 🚣‍♀️ 🏖️ 🌊

The first of four Beach Sprint events in Ontario this year, RowOn Beach Sprint Cup Series #1 smashed the all-time Canadian record for entries in a beach regatta and was a part of the RCA National Beach Sprint Tour.

Row Ontario hosted its first regatta of 2026 on Saturday, as the Tony Biernacki Sr. Memorial Regatta took place from the North Course of the Welland International Flatwater Centre.

This regatta features a unique multi-stage, small boat sprint racing format designed for exciting competition!
