Northern Animal Rescue Alliance

Northern Animal Rescue Alliance NARA is a volunteer run, foster home based rescue located in Terrace BC. To apply to become a foster home please contact us at [email protected]

We are a completely volunteer run home-based rescue, we have no building to hold animals in our care. We are advocates for abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the community of Terrace and surrounding area. Our mission is to provide means to a better life for all animals that come into our care, whether that means providing rescue placement, short-term care, rehabilitation for illness and in

jury or providing sanctuary for the old and un-adoptable. We remain accountable for the animals in our care for the entirety of their lives; ensuring they are provided with everything necessary to live a happy healthy life. We promote the responsible humane treatment of all pets which includes Spay and Neuter.

North Eby area residents (Terrace). Please keep an eye out for Meadow and Forest. These indoor-only Ragdoll farm cats are very shy and may escaped & gone walkabout, although we doubt they would go far. If you see them, please message us! Trail cameras will be going in on Monday. They are fixed and have the left ear tip missing.

By organising a transfer to our partnered no-kill rescue in the Lower Mainland, NARA were able to create space for urgent/emergency rescues and help some other local allied animal welfare groups do the same. We'd never euthanise a healthy animal, or one with a humane chance of recovery, but those most in need often take prolonged care, which limits what we can intake. CTRS is a fabulous charity that is much bigger than NARA and we are so grateful for their help. Huge thank you to the volunteer drivers, the super chap who let us use his truck and to you, the folk who donate cans or cash to help make this happen.
This is why we are called Northern Animal Rescue ALLIANCE.

Yesterday a NARA superdog passed away peacefully and we are all sad but also happy that he had such a wonderful last 5 years after a pretty brutal beginning.
His chronic malnourishment as a youngster led to long term health issues. He remained a NARA 'forever foster', and all his veterinary expenses were covered, thanks to your donations.
Our hearts go out to those special foster mums, their family and friends, and to the veterinary team that cared for him.
Go collect rocks in heaven darling.

Amanita & Pumpkin are lovable young cats who are still looking for families of their own! Their kittens have all found homes, and now it’s time for these spayed mamas to be adopted too. Here’s their story:

Both girls were among the many cats abandoned on Walsh Avenue after their owner moved away and left them behind. A kind neighbour brought Pumpkin indoors just as she was giving birth. Amanita was heavily pregnant when she was rescued and had her litter safely in foster care. Both are young, well-socialized, and have lovely, affectionate personalities.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the perfect time to give one of these deserving cats a home. Adoption fees are $250 for spayed adults and include deworming, flea treatment, and their first vaccine.

If you’re already approved to adopt through NARA, please reach out via Messenger or email so we can connect you with the foster home. To apply, visit our website and complete an adoption application.
