KCSS’s vision is co-operative, caring, inclusive and healthy neighborhood communities where children and families have the capacity to achieve their full potential. It is our mission to work with community partners within schools to enable success and belonging for all people.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Co-operation: We foster respect and collaboration through participatory learning, advocac
y and action. Commitment: We seek long-term commitments by volunteers, staff and executive committees because this leads to stronger partnerships and greater benefits to communities. Innovation: We serve as a catalyst for innovation by using proactive approaches to addressing community issues. Goal-oriented: We take action on prioritized issues by finding funding sources, implementing strategies and monitoring progress within time frames. Diversity: We recognize that communities are diverse and dynamic and are committed to developing unique approaches to change. THE ISSUE
Raising awareness of hunger issues in Terrace and surrounding communities is important for positive change. Many families struggle with high food costs and cannot afford healthy meals. Communities need to be educated, creative and dedicated to in order to stop hunger. Kalum Community School Society is committed to working with communities and schools to ensure kids and families do not go hungry.
