We are partnering with the Happy Gang to offer a Falls Prevention Workshop presented by Melanie, an Occupational Therapist with Northern Health.

Gentle Persuasion Approach to Dementia Care
November 5, 2026 | 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Terrace Hospice Office (4553 Park Avenue)

This full-day, evidence-based training focuses on empathetic, respectful, person-centred approaches to supporting people living with dementia and responding to responsive behaviours. The training explores understanding the “why” behind behaviours, effective communication strategies, de-escalation, and maintaining the dignity and well-being of the person.

Space is limited to 10 participants, and registration is required. Please call the Terrace Hospice office at 250-635-4811 to register.

Dementia Overview
November 19, 2026 | 6:00–7:30 p.m.

Join us for a Dementia Overview presented by Kurt from Northern Health. This session will provide an opportunity to learn more about dementia and ways to support individuals living with dementia, their families, and caregivers.

No registration is required.

Longer lives bring more opportunities for connection and contribution. But living longer should also mean having the supports needed to live well.

We're joining Seniors' Advocates from Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba and New Brunswick to call for action on barriers to healthy ageing.

Strong & Steady Fitness for People with Parkinson’s

Join instructor Val Zilinski for fitness designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s. This fun and supportive class focuses on improving mobility, strength, and balance. Participants who require assistance must bring a support person, who may attend free of charge.

Runs Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Sportsplex
October 8 to 29

$40 for 8 sessions
