Proud of our team for continuing to learn, grow, and strengthen the work we do!

Our DVIP and FEP Clinical Counsellors, together with Elysa Philip, Director of Children, Families and Special Services, attended the Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC) Annual Training Forum 2026.

Under this year’s theme, Power in Action: Collective Response to the Systemic Crisis of Gender-Based Violence, our team remains committed to building the knowledge and skills that strengthen our ongoing efforts to support families and help end gender-based violence.

Did you know? In 1916, women in Manitoba became the first in Canada to gain the right to vote in provincial elections, helping spark change across the country. 🇨🇦

This Gender Equality Week, we celebrate the progress made and recognize the work that continues.

This year’s focus on women’s economic participation and leadership is a reminder of why creating opportunities for people to participate, contribute, and lead matters in building stronger communities.

Let’s keep moving forward, together!

Today, we celebrate OUR WHY IN ACTION!

Our 2025–2026 Annual General Meeting is underway, and it’s wonderful to have our team and leadership together to reflect on another meaningful year at Options Community Services.

There are so many stories behind the pages of this year’s Annual Report. Stories of people showing up for one another. Of teams finding new ways to respond as needs changed. Of partnerships that opened new possibilities. And, most importantly, of the people and families who trusted us to walk alongside them.

Today, we’re taking a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come, celebrate the impact we’ve created together and the people who helped bring our purpose to life, and reaffirm the commitment that has guided us for 55 years as we look ahead with excitement for what’s still possible.

To our incredible team, partners, volunteers, supporters, and community: Thank you for being part of our WHY!

Let’s continue Building Communities & Inspiring Hope. Together.

Last night reminded us just how powerful it can be when a community comes together with compassion, openness, and hope. 💛

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us at Holland Park for our first World Su***de Prevention Day event, hosted by the Fraser Health Crisis Line and Su***de Prevention Education and Counselling (SPEAC).

Families, couples, friends, and community members stopped by throughout this deeply moving evening. Some came to learn. Some came to remember. Some shared beautiful messages of hope, while others left broken hearts on our memorial wall in honour of someone deeply missed. Every message, conversation, and moment of connection carried its own meaning.

We were especially honoured to see people taking the time to learn about the crisis and su***de prevention resources available in our community and how they can make a meaningful difference when someone is struggling. Many also left wanting to share what they had learned with others, helping these messages of hope and support reach even further.

As the evening came to a close, we gathered to light our lanterns in remembrance of those we have lost, in solidarity with those who are struggling, and as a reminder that no one should have to face a crisis alone.

To everyone who stopped by, shared a message, asked a question, remembered someone, connected with a resource, or simply stood with us: Thank you!

Every conversation helps raise awareness. Every connection helps reduce stigma. And every message of hope has the potential to reach someone who needs it.
Together, we can keep changing the narrative around su***de and remind people across our communities that support is here and hope is possible.
