PAWS Spin-In Part 2: As our July 18th Spin-In was to be postponed due to rain (though subsequently held under clearing skies), we are holding a second Spin-In at:

Historic Stewart Farm, located in Elgin Heritage Park,
13723 Crescent Rd, Surrey, BC .
Saturday Aug. 22, 2026, 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Chairs will be provided. Please bring your own lunch and beverages.

Note: This is held in conjunction with the Drop In series Historic Stewart Farm is holding for the public over the summer. The topic on that day is textile handicrafts of the past.

Regular guild meetings suspend for the summer, making way for summer interest groups. Guild members have enjoyed spinning, weaving & colour, and a beaded rose session. Remaining sessions include a day of spinning and dyeing at Coniagas Textiles in Maple Ridge; drop spindles, and little looms.

Our Spin-In is postponed until August re rain showers this morning. Grass areas will be wet, pole barn has dirt floor & is dark; no other buildings are available to us for use today Anyone showing up should be prepared to spin on the veranda & to dress warm. Sorry for the short notice 😢

The guild will be demonstrating spinning and weaving at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair this weekend - Sat., May 16th 10-2 at the old ice arena located next to Shannon Hall, 6050 176 St, Surrey, B.C.

Guild members enjoyed Bundle Dyeing with Fresh Plants workshop presented by Megan Willems at her farm studio in Abbotsford on May 6th.

The project is off of the David Loom - double weave cotton beach towels, using 4/8 cotton for both warp and weft. Pattern from Jane Stafford. Highlights from our Jan. general meeting Show and Tell : woven baskets; a fish leather coin purse; assorted handwoven wood bracelets & bangles and a 12 foot sample of Huck Colour & Weave from Jane Stafford’s Online Guild, Season 5, Episode 4 - a study of cloth with holes and spots.
