Our friends at I Want That Bag Consignment Boutique are now accepting drop-offs by appointment—and through our Consign for a Cause program, your gently used items can help support local mental health and addiction services right here in Huron Perth.

Simply let the team know you'd like your items assigned to the CMHA Huron Perth account when you drop them off. Once your items sell, a portion of the proceeds is donated directly to CMHA Huron Perth.

It's an easy way to declutter, shop sustainably, and give back to your community at the same time.

Thank you to I Want That Bag Consignment Boutique - Lucknow for partnering with us to make a difference, one item at a time. 💚

Everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home.

We’re proud to be one of many organizations working alongside the City of Stratford - The Municipality and community partners to support people experiencing homelessness. While there’s no single solution to homelessness, positive change happens when organizations, community members, and service providers work together with compassion, respect, and a shared commitment to helping people find stability.

Thank you to the City of Stratford for sharing more about the work happening behind the scenes to support individuals living in encampments and connect them with services and housing options. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read the post below and learn more about the collaborative efforts taking place in our community.

ENCAMPMENT RESPONSE

The City of Stratford is aware of encampments within our community, including the site near the Downie Street parking lot.

As the City’s lead for housing and homelessness services, our Social Services department continues to work directly with individuals at these locations to support their immediate safety and well-being, while also helping them move toward permanent, appropriate housing.

This work is supported through the City’s encampment response process, which brings together a number of municipal departments, including Social Services, Police, Fire, Infrastructure and Development Services, Community Services, and Building and Planning. This coordinated approach is essential in helping us respond thoughtfully and responsibly to a complex issue that affects both vulnerable individuals and the broader community.

Each department has an important role to play. Together, we are working to balance compassion with public safety, service access with site considerations, and immediate response with longer-term housing goals. This collaboration allows us to better assess needs, coordinate actions, and connect individuals with the services and supports that may help stabilize their situation.

We also continue to work closely with community agency partners that bring specialized expertise such as community paramedicine and mental health and addiction supports.

Homelessness is a complex issue, and there is no single solution or single organization that can address it alone. Progress depends on strong partnerships, coordinated responses, and a shared commitment to supporting people with dignity and respect.

Our collective goal remains clear: to reduce chronic homelessness in Stratford and to help ensure that more people have access to safe, supportive, stable, and appropriate housing.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Noah's Pizza for their continued generosity and support of CMHA Huron Perth.

Their generous pizza donations to the Northern Huron Connection Centre and one of our Goderich support groups help us build welcoming, supportive spaces where community connection can thrive.

This is what community support looks like — local businesses making a meaningful impact and helping to strengthen the well-being of those around them.

We are truly grateful for your kindness and generosity. Thank you, Noah’s Pizza! 🍕🫶

While 2SLGBTQIA+ communities continue to face disproportionately high rates of mental health challenges, substance use and suicidality, these experiences do not define the community.

There is also joy. Creativity. Leadership. Advocacy. Care for one another.

There are people building safer spaces, supporting one another through crisis, advocating for better systems and creating communities where others feel less alone.

At CMHA, we won’t stop working toward a mental health and addictions system where every person feels supported and safe being who they are.
