Facile Futures Facile Futures assists people with disabilities and their families in Grey-Bruce, Huron-Perth, London-Middlesex counties.

Facile Futures empowers individuals and families by offering planning services and supports, promoting family-to-family connections, and through community development efforts that seek to keep the voices of people with lived experience at the forefront of community conversations. Facile is a values-driven organization promoting inclusion, self determination, meaningful relationships, strong suppor

t networks and a true sense of belonging in community. We believe that all people can lead purposeful lives through individualized funding, independent facilitation and effective community collaborations. Facile Futures is guided by a set of values and principles that emphasize citizenship, rights and responsibilities, participation and contribution, the importance of family/friends and personal networks, timely and accurate information, decision making, and capacity building. Facile Futures offers a service that allows people living with developmental disabilities, people living with dual diagnosis, and the community as a whole, to utilize the many assets that already exist within our community and to leverage natural and unpaid supports to achieve one's vision for their own life. Independent facilitation supports people to recognize their strengths, name their goals and implement plans to achieve a purpose-driven life. Through these efforts, community spaces also benefit from engaging with people who are dedicated, hold valued social roles and help to create welcoming and diverse places for all to enjoy. Being part of a community and having a true sense of belonging is a basic human need. It is also important for people to see themselves represented in community spaces. Independent facilitation can be a bridge connecting people and places. Facile Futures offers opportunities for people with a disability and their families to come together, prepare for and plan a secure future for their family. Keep it simple and manageable. Growth doesn’t have to start big.

Some examples of how to start planning:
- Begin exploring your child’s interests, passions, and strengths from a young age
- Notice what brings them joy, curiosity, and confidence
- Offer opportunities to try different activities, such as sports, arts, clubs, volunteering

Facile Futures is seeking two independent facilitators — one to serve London-Middlesex & area, and one to serve North Perth, Huron East & area

In each position, the Independent Facilitator will assist people with a disability and their families, in an individualized and person-centred way, to plan and take action towards their vision for a good life.

Working from the belief that community is the starting place for inclusion and belonging, the facilitator will work collaboratively with each person, as well as their family and support circles, to help them be proactive and prepared for various stages and phases of their life.
