Stratford City Council proclaimed October as Autism Awareness Month and will be flying the Autism Ontario flag at City Hall. With a 600% increase in diagnoses over the last 20 years and affecting 1 in every 110 children born, there is a huge need to raise public awareness. We know that the key to understanding, compassion and progress is awareness and education, and that with this awareness our loved ones may find acceptance and respect. In less than 10 years, Autism will be the number one disability affecting children, which in turn affects our families, friends and communities.



Thank you to all who walked, pledged and supported Autism Ontario - Huron Perth Chapter on our annual Walk for Autism in Stratford on Sunday, Sept. 25. The tally hasn't been completed, but the day was a huge success. The demonstration of Band Jam was a huge success with children up on stage enjoying music to their hearts content either singing or playing with a musical instrument. We thank Yantzi TimBr Mart and Pounder TimBr Mart for their support in matching our pledges through the TimbrKids Foundation and to Domino's Pizza for donating lunch.
