To honour the one-year anniversary of the passing of Diane (mother of our SIL Manager, Charlene) the Hahn family came together in a beautiful act of service. They built a much‑needed shed and refreshed outdoor spaces that had long been waiting for care. Diane’s passion for serving others and her love for community continues to ripple💙

L’Arche Stratford proudly took part in the Formosi Cup, an L’Arche Ontario soccer tradition that brings communities together through sport, friendship, teamwork, and community. It was a wonderful day of connection, fun, and celebration! Congratulations to L’Arche Sudbury on winning the Formosi Cup!🎉

Over the last few years, L’Arche Stratford learned about Phyllis Webstad and the story of her orange shirt. When Phyllis was six years old, her new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at residential school, a moment that shaped her life and became a symbol of the experiences of many Indigenous children. Her courage in sharing her story invites all of us to listen, to learn, and to deepen our understanding of our shared past. You can learn more about Phyllis and her orange shirt here: https://orangeshirtday.org/about/phyllis-story/

🎨There is something tender and full-circle about this art project🎨 Our last big community painting in the current building carries so much symbolism. Vibrant colours, hands working side by side, each person leaving a mark before we step into a new chapter. Quiet focus, bursts of laughter, stepping back to admire the process, individually unique brush strokes, it's the L'Arche Stratford community on a canvas. In a few weeks, when it’s completed, it will be a beautiful moment. Not just seeing the final piece, but recognizing everything it represents: a closing and a beginning, a celebration of growth, and a reminder that, like each brushstroke in a painting, belonging only works when we create it together.

It’s an exciting day tomorrow🥳
On Thursday, September 24, our office will be closed as we take time to pack and purge in preparation for our move to Britannia. We’ll be back on Friday, September 25. Although the L’Arche Stratford office is closed, all activities continue as usual.
Thank you for your understanding.

L’Arche Stratford community had a visit with the Little Hobby Hill Farm Mobile Petting Zoo at Spectrum Acres and it was a wholesome, joy filled morning. There is something about spending time with gentle animals that slows everything down. Soft noses, curious eyes, and the simple joy of being with and caring for animals together. Thank you for the sweet animals, the inclusive environment and for hosting us.
Collaborations like these remind us how connection can bring so much appreciation for a community where everyone belongs💙
