Today, our team wears orange to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. We honor the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.
We acknowledge the profound harm caused by Canada’s residential school system and the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma and systemic inequities experienced by Indigenous Peoples. This day asks us to reflect, listen and consider the responsibility we each carry in advancing truth, healing and reconciliation.
At Key Assets, we recognize that reconciliation requires ongoing learning, respect, accountability and partnership. In our work with children, youth, families and communities, we are committed to:

▫️ Supporting environments where every child and youth feels safe, heard and valued, with meaningful connections to their culture and community.
We encourage our staff, carers and communities to take time to learn, engage with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, and participate in local events and conversations.
