Girl Code is kicking off here in St. John's, and we are in need of some pretty cool mentors! First priority will be given to youth in or around the Buckmaster's Circle region but we encourage all diverse young individuals in St. John's and surrounding areas to apply.
We are planning our first mentor night, and it's looking like it might be a little bit CRUSTy.... If you catch our drift! 🍕
🌟 Call for Youth Mentors
Girl Code | Mentors Ages 15–18
Supporting Girls Ages 7–9
Are you 15–18 years old and good with younger kids?
Girl Code is looking for teen mentors to support girls ages 7–9 in a fun, creative, and confidence-building program.
This is your chance to be a positive role model, build leadership skills, and be part of a supportive mentor community — while also receiving meaningful benefits and holistic support.
💜 What Is Girl Code?
Girl Code is a confidence-building, empowerment program for girls that focuses on self-esteem, emotional expression, healthy relationships, boundaries, and leadership — all in a fun, age-appropriate, and supportive environment.
Developed by ElevateHER, Girl Code was first launched in Nova Scotia, where it saw strong engagement, positive feedback from participants and families, and meaningful outcomes for girls’ confidence, connection, and sense of belonging.
Now, Girl Code is coming to St. John’s through a community partnership with Buckmaster's Circle Community Centre and The Canadian Women’s Foundation.
The program creates a safe, welcoming space where younger girls can learn, play, ask questions, and grow — supported by trained facilitators and teen mentors who model kindness, confidence, and leadership.
Girl Code is rooted in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and community-led values, and is designed to meet girls where they are — helping them build skills they can carry with them for life.
